just picked up a copy and after a couple rounds I agree, this deck is very focused and it’s a great starting point for anyone who would wanna upgrade this. Even stock It’s good. Solid game plan, and super satisfying casting big spells by tapping creatures and getting more value from “becomes tapped” triggers. Definitely recommended! Also congrats for 4.5k almost 5k subs, you definitely deserve all the new attention you’re getting recently. 💪
I played this deck on release and yeah. It got crazy out of hand. Its just so focused out of the box. Alot of precons always have a secondary commanders that dont really vibe with the face commander and that usually leads to the deck being split in a bunch of directions. But this one. Both the commanders want to do the same thing. So the deck just did the thing.
Imo I don’t believe this deck is a 9.9/10 but I also don’t think it’s garbage like a lot of other ppl are saying. People are sleeping on Kasla though. A beefy evasive commander that reduces their own cost is nothing to scoff at. The scry/draw ability is just gravy imo. If you have 6 tokens out, put Kasla on the battlefield, and then slap a Kemba’s Banner on her, she’s a flying 12/11 with vig and haste. That’s bonkers. Kasla is so open ended. No matter the strategy, tokens are going to play a role. You can do token burn, voltron, spellslinger, combo, etc.
Already pre-ordered it, along with Brimaz. I'm making custom versions of both of the choices for commander. Kasla will be Liberty, Angel of Freedom and Saint Traft and Rem Karolus will be Uncle Sam, Spirit of America. Adding Saheeli from War of the Spark to make more tokens, Swarm Intelligence and Double Vision to double up my convoke spells, and some clones. Altar of the Brood, Impact Tremors, and Strionic Resonator will help mill, deal damage, and copy Kasla's ability. Add in some cheap and efficient equipment, and she kills you fast. Faster with a good hand.
Saheeli isn’t that good in this deck. You want colored tokens, not colorless. It’s not bad, Ofc, but anything that makes WUR tokens is BROKEN in convoke.
Can’t you cast every convoke card for free? The tokens you tap, tap for their colors right? So you can cast convoke cards at no cost if you have the right tokens.
I really love getting a really powerful Convoke commander, but draw effects on commanders are so boring imo (still a very powerful effect tho tbf) I really wish this did something else instead of draw like "Every time you convoke target creature you control gains your choice of Flying, Vigilance, or Haste"
I dont really see how you win this deck out of the box. Could be good with few upgrades. Btw the Warhammer precon esper and mono black were close to 10 too.
Decks that tend to draw more cards and cast more spells tend to win more. The amount of tokens this deck generates allows you to cheat mana on the cards you are casting. In essence, you'll cast more spells and draw more cards, which means you're generally playing more removal, mana rocks and creatures than your opponents; all the while you're beating everyone down with Kasla, that is an evasive/vigilant threat that attacks immediately when she enters the battlefield. Even if your opponents remove Kasla, you'll have a high chance of replaying her because of the ability to reduce her cost through convoke. Other precons generally struggle when they lack consistent methods of card draw, in which the player is at the mercy of drawing 1 card every turn, and the Kasla player will rarely if not ever experience that. The consistent card draw, and focused selection of cards, makes this deck have a consistent, fast, and aggressive play experience, that in my humble opinion provides a sublime play experience for new players. Keep in mind Alex, that all the reviews, as I stated in the video, are for new players, and are reviewed/rated for that purpose.
@@GSIron first, thanks for the full input thats really nice of you. Second, I understand what you said about the power of the deck out of the box. But thats because others precon are lacking of bordwipes and cant handle what this deck does. But often this strategy will be countered if the "New player" Comes to a table with custom decks even in the lvl 7 power. Just sayin that board protection like teferi protection or else could help those players to stay relevant. With 50 dollars upgrades this deck IS a Banger. And you are right : vs others out of the box precon, this deck will melt everybody with the évasion of the commander and the " go wide" strat
Convoke also means that you can reduces the Manacosts by its colored Mana, just so you know! So basiccaly you could play spells for 0 Mana.
Convoke can pay for the color pips as well if the creature you tap has that color in its identity. SO stuff can be free!

I removed all the planer chase stuff and replace them with two mana rocks and a convoke draw spell.
