Thanks for this very helpful video. It encouraged me to fix my Maytag washer/dryer combo. Water had been leaking into the tub AND when I wanted to run a load it took about 15 minutes to fill the tub! When I looked at the water valve, I noticed that the intake screens were clogged with rust and debris. I used a brush and a spray bottle to clean the screen and now the washer runs like it's brand new!

Thanks for taking the time to make a clear and to the point video. I ordered the valve from you because you deserved my business, and your price was great. I paid via PayPal and you shipped quickly and I received the valve in 4 days. The valve was an exact replacement including the screens and the electrical components. I'll bookmark your channel for the future.

    Missing O ring at 2:33
Our washer has some sort of sensor in that blue hole at 2:33. The old valve had a tiny blue O ring in that hole. The replacement valve does NOT come with that O ring.
Don’t forget to bring it over from old valve!
Otherwise a great video. Just finished an EZ install & prob saved a few $$$.
    Thanks!

thanks for addressing some of the common issues like wire harnesses that are difficult to remove and repositioning the tub so you can get the new water valve back into place and pointing out screws of different length etc. Most of the videos make it all seem like it will come apart and go back together like a new set of legos.

Ben, my GE washer just started this dripping nonsense. Only 3.5 years old. Have valves on order from you. Removing the console was just as you described. Thanks for noting on your site the new valve doesn't come w/an o-ring. I saw this as a common problem on other forums when people didn't know about it and got a leak at the thermistor. What a terrible design, but at least it's an easy fix.

I had a 25 year old GE washer & dryer. The water fill valves started leaking & was able to find a new replacement which is a miracle in its self. I didn't have any other problems with it. The one queer thing I found out the GE washer is that it had a cider block attached to the motor to counter act an out of balance load. Then I bought a front loading LG washer & dryer. What a big mistake! The main reason I bought a front loader was so I could wash my comforter. The worst reason is that it never got my t-shirts clean. The next time I buy a washer, it will be a top loader with a short impeller & definitely not an LG. I will probably buy a GE washer & dryer even though I hate GE products since I worked for GE for over 15 years in another division.

I know this video is 2 years old. On newer models the pressure sensor is the hole between the hot and cold water inlets. I just changed mine and did not notice the blue o ring in the old valve body. My machine leaked. Luckily I still had the old valve and moved the o ring to the new valve. No more water on the floor.

Thank you for posting. We are dealing with this right now. We’ve replaced the part. But now we have a small leak just between the screws that hold the valve to the washer. It seems to be a sensor port. But in the video you don’t seem to mention it and unfortunately we did not take a picture before removing the part. I am not sure if we are missing a small O ring in the sensor port area. Or if it even goes there. Any suggestions. Small leak

Is it normal for some residual water to be held in the valve after a cycle? I thought I had a leak because it was dripping one day. Found this video and was going to replace the valve. But now it’s stopped dripping. However, if I reach up and rub my hand along the part where the water comes out, I will get a “release” of a few tablespoons of water. Almost like it’s just stuck in there after a cycle. In hindsight I don’t think I have an actual leak but for whatever reason that one day this water was just dripping . Is it normal for water to pool up there between cycles or is this an indicator of a failing valve?
