Gary Wells never got the recognition he deserved
The Houston Astrodome I was there I saw Gary jump he did quite well I think he took second the goal was to put your back tire in a2 foot by 2 foot painted box on the landing ramp . I know Gary personally I was at his party afterwards in the astro world suites . We partied like rockstars got to meet brent musburger as a young broadcaster . What a performer. It is always amazing to be in Gary's presents
Hell yea that's awesome. Wish there was more footage of Gary's jumps. Did he have a personal collection? If so , who has it now?
I was there that day it was quite a show - I also remember the wheely show that Gary put on it was fantastic I was really glad to lean that he is doing well and still jumping.
These jumps were aired on CBS Sport Spectacular. If I remember correctly, there was some concern about the wind but they jumped anyway. After Soucek crashed Wells continued but hit the safety ramp on the following jump.
The ramp in Vegas wasn't moved. When you see footage of the jump, you'll see Wells' approach is not on center - he's drifting from left to right as he hits the ramp.
I saw Gary a few other times on CBS - once in Charlotte, once in Phoenix, and once in a tournament/jumpoff at the Astrodome in Houston - Gary Wells, Rex Blackwell, Bob Duffy, etc
I can't believe this is on here. I was there that day! Soucek pulled up too much and slid down the landing ramp on his ass and back - melting his jump suit (I don't think he was wearing leathers).
What, for every 4 minutes of bike jumping we get bonus river dancing free?..?
I kno gary wells wasnt scared but the 2nd dude was terrified lol did i see a river dance bust out lol
