Usually original CWA is brown sugar melted with butter cool then add the golden syrup in the tablespoon spray with oil and the syrup falls from spoon. Everything dry is 1 cup
I used a different recipe for this but I had to check here to make sure they were meant to be shaped and then hardened because I’ve never made these before. I’m glad I did it right
Hi great recipe my dad was in WWII he was in Darwin when it was bombed he was a Lutenent. I was wondering can I use gluten free special ks or wheat Bix as I'm Celeac, high fructose, high sorbatol and low lactose, plus my cholesterol is through the roof, as I'd love to make them thanks.
Hi Shaarz, Thanks for your comment and question. Your dad is a hero! If you change the ingredients then they’re not strictly ANZAC biscuits because the recipe is protected but I think using either the GF weetbix or the GF special K would probably make quite tasty biscuits. I’ve not tried it so I can’t say for sure that it would work out but it sounds like it’s worth a try!

Also I didn't get the site for your cookbook.
Dip that spoon in hot water so the syrup slides off.

The page with the recipe doesn't show how much of each ingredient nor the time and temp to bake.
150 Celsius for 10 min.
180°c 15 minutes or until golden according to rhe Edmond's Cookery Book.
Can you use brown sugar instead ?
Thank you thank you. All i needed to know was how much butter!! 125 gm mmmwah
R these crunchy or chewy thanx
What is the alternative we can use for golden syrup?
Try maple. Work's for me
Honey maybe but golden syrup is the signature flavour.
@@mama--rua thank you 🙏
How on earth is all that white sugar "healthy"?
Ha ha AND the butter AND the golden syrup!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s not healthy however during the war eggs weren’t readily available so this recipe was created and it’s a tradition so show respect
Why not just measure properly ? It’s much safer and easier in the end.
Not good advice for first time bakers watching.
YOU ARE TOOOOOOOO SLOW
