    I just bought this for my son for school as he needed something lightweight, portable, a long battery life and decent performance. It ticks all those boxes and more. Very pleased. Also comes with WiFi 6 - so he gets connectivity in his bedroom which is quite a distance from the router in our house.

    i have this laptop in the i7 version and it is so fast. web browsing ,perfomance is super snappy the laptop havent slowed down ever since the day i bought it. battery life is also so darn great. when choosing a power plan in acer i get around 5-6 hours and in balanced mode i get an easy 12+ hours. great value for the price!!

    Greatest review yet. I had been doing my homework for the last 3 hours on which laptop to buy from Lenovo’s flex 5 to the Inspiron 7000 and everything In between. The sRGB accuracy and the 440 nit takes the cake for me combined with the IPS panel. I expect nothing less of CPU/RAM/SSD which is all stores seem to list. The screen is the final selling point for me. This review mentions that which is great. I spent about an hour just comparing all the screen specs since these retail stores/manufacturers always hide them in fine print for some reason.

    Great reviews I just bought the Swift 3 i7 version I can't believe it's only 2.65 lbs. I hadn't bought a new laptop since 2010(a great HP 15.6" Win 7 4lbs for only $300) so this Swift 3 is a quantum leap in technology. I really love the lighted keyboard and fingerprint reader, no reason to ever go without these features ever again.

      cs the fingers can differe, some peopel has small hands, some large, some cant push harder some can easily push harder, so you need to try to find the bottom line for yourself.

    I use this laptop since a few days. Normal tasks like web browsing und texting are great, you can also play low-power games, I played Counter Strike Go, the perfomance is ok. The battery life is great, min. 6-7 hours are realsitic, i think you can get 10+ hours with the silente mode. The display ist very good, the colour accurency is great so you can edit photos, the brightness ist round 300 nits, that is ok for me, with the matt screen you can use it also on sunny days. The fan noise is great, i can hear it only when the cpu was used hardly, there is no coile wine and no backlide bleeding - two problems on many Laptops, also like much more expensive Dell (xps 13) and Thinkpad (E14 and T14) machines. The keyboard and touch pad are ok, not bad but also not super like a Thinkpad Keyboard, ist ok for a good typing experience. I have the model SF 314 511. For 730 ,- EUR which I paid for, the machine ist one of the best I used at the last years.

I tried Asus UM425 but I returned it cause the colors on those laptop looked weird, I could not calibrate it properly, and it annoyed me that the fan was constantly running:( So I narrowed down my choices to Acer Swift 3, Dell Vostro 3400 and Lenovo Ideapad 5 - all 3 with the same specifics: 11th Gen Intel i5, 14" display, Iris XE, 256/512 GB SSD. Agree with your review - the 2021 13-inch ASER Swift 3 with an i1135G7 processor is an excellent laptop. I friend of mine is interested in buying a 2021 13.3-inch DELL Inspiron with 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and an intel core i11300H processor (Model Inspiron 13 i5310-5310SLV-PUS Intel Evo) I tend to convince him that my ASER is a better machine although I have never had the DELL Inspiron. In my view, these two laptops are pretty much similar to each other although there are some differences in the number/type of ports for connectivity. Can you guys give me an answer to my question about which one is better: ASER SF314-59-52BZ or the DELL Inspiron at your earliest possible convenience.

      Both the laptops pretty much do everything you mentioned,
      Swift has a better color accurate display and compact 14" in form factor.
      Inspiron has a better keyboard typing feel and bigger 15.6 in display.
      Also inspiron comes in different configurations with different cpu and gpu, so can't really comment on performance and battery without knowing which variant you're referring to.

    I wonder how to tell if you are getting the 224 nit or the 440 nit version. They usually are not indicating the nits in the specs.

    • @aka-Jester
      @aka-Jester 3 года назад

      Uhh.... they do mention in most sites. But to make it easy for you, none of the models after 2020 comes with 224nits (maybe the previous gen did, IDK) . The Ryzen 5 4500u variant comes with the 300nits and 45% NTSC, the i5 11th gen with 16:9 display comes with 340nits peak and the same i5 in 3:2 display has 440nits. In day to day usage, the brightness in both these variants doesn't matter since the 340nits screen is antiglare and its perfectly visible outdoors. On the other hand 3:2 display is highly reflective, so 440 nits is necessary to make it visible (still sucks with light source directly against the screen).

    • @ericw4377
      @ericw4377 3 года назад

      @@aka-Jester Uhh...no, they do not always mention nits. Am UK-based and Currys is the largest UK tech retailer and there isn't even one laptop I've checked where the nits value is shown. New Egg sometimes shows it and sometimes does not. Exact same thing with Best Buy. The Acer website itself never includes it.
      But thanks for the info. Good to know.

    • @aka-Jester

      @@ericw4377 My bad, I didn't realise you're talking about retail sites. Yes, apologies. Most of them don't mention the display brightness, only Amazon and new egg has mentioned it in my region and we don't have Currys here.
      Retail sites aside, detailed specs including brightness were given in pcmag, windows central, notebook review, t3 and more.

    This laptop is a beast and ultra-portable. It is so fast. display is not dim and have very good colors. The keyboard is clicky and responsive and light to the hand when typing. The trackpad is smooth and responsive. My complaint is only the speakers which has low volume and hard to hear. It can be managed with a headphone or external speaker.
