It has been reported and therefore removed by Greg Zumwalt because he thinks I copied his design. The model can now be found on my own website ( link in the description ) for 0.99 dollars to pay for the expanses of the website.
What slicer and settings did you use? I'm trying to use Cura 4.8 and it is a huge mess. It can't seem to decide how to do the infill, I've set it to do shell before infill which helps, but still really un-optimized.
Hello, yes the car V2 car will perform even better then the V1 (I guess that’s the reason for an updated version) the only difference between the 2 is that the updated version doesn’t need support anymore to print and i added some spacers to keep everything in place but you don’t necessarily have to use them.
Hi. I bought this online and am struggling to get the gift cards to print on a Prusa Mini. I have tried to print the individual parts but the v1 and v2 parts are all mixed up in the same folder. Is it possible you can create a v2 folder that has a complete set of parts for the v2 model? Thanks
What size is it meant to be printed in? The current default size, when I drop it into Cura, shows a print time of around 20 hours. But you have written on the thingverse.com page that it should be around 4 hours.
Brian, my names Austin. I’m a fan of your 3D design work. I am working on an engineering project for my 3D modeling class. I am attempting to recreate your 3D printable car design that you have in thingverse. I am struggling to find dimensions that I can accurately work off of. Would you by any chance be willing to share the original files that you made in Fusion 360?
Lol just put it together and gears don’t even spin the stupid crank needed a hammer to be put in and I need all my force to turn it. Idk why I think my print quality was too shitty but ima try again with the best I can do but advice will be taken
I recently made a similar design which uses the same gift card concept but it's not a car, it can be found here: ruclips.net/video/0SO7Gl-gxPo/видео.html
Because it’s a “gift card”. A card you can give to someone so they can assemble it with the provided instructions. You can see it as a model kit from the early days.
Hahaha so yeah the 142 people who made this thing are all in on the hoax 😂😂😂 believe me when I say I really don’t have the skills to fake this with VFX, it’s a lot easier for me to just design and print it😜 hilarious comment though 😆👍
Ok Jeffery just follow this link: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3308710 and go to the tab "Makes". So you're saying all these people are lying or what? Or just go on instagram and search for windupcar you can find video's of people who made my model. You can always try for yourself and print it out with your own printer or a friends. Just take a look at my chanel, this isn't a photoshop or a VFX chanel, I design and print mechanical components to create fun projects.
I just printed it and this achievement is really excellent, it perfectly shows the capabilities of 3D printing.
@TheSirBlackbird thank you very much 😉👍
Just finished this and have been playing with it. Thank you!
That's pretty amazing. Never thought to print a coil spring before. Thanks!
Excellent idea! I think it is a wonderful present for younger kids :)
I'll print it as soon my printer finished the current job.
Nice design man! I was wondering if I was able to print a wind up mechanism and this made it clear to me.
Thanks man!
Brian Brocken no problem, it’s a decent design from what I can see!
Loved it! Great design
Thanks man 😁👍
Printing one of these now for my kids
It's really cool I tried to print and it works
Really Cool! Will try tonight.
Genius design
Thanks man😁 you have some great designs yourself 😉👍
@@BrianBrocken not as good as yours my friend:)👏
you should now make a powered glider using that
kkkkk, gostei, irei fazer dois para meus filhos apostarem corrida. like com certeza.
Very nice!
Thanks 🤗👍
Awesome
Спасибо,классный дизайн!
Thanks man!
i saw scaling down is a bad idea. but i question. how big before it wouldnt work. had a dancing skeleton that didnt work scaled up
hey! Are both of the cards the same size?
cool ! thanks
Np ;-)
I printed this a few weeks ago, but now I can't seem to find it on thingiverse. Great job though. It's a super neat little toy.
It has been reported and therefore removed by Greg Zumwalt because he thinks I copied his design. The model can now be found on my own website ( link in the description ) for 0.99 dollars to pay for the expanses of the website.
Genial! Gracias!
Thank you Open World!
Very cool model! Wondering how you made it... Could you do a tutorial?
are you sure that it would take 4 hours because on cura for me it says 10
Awesome design. Can't wait to print one. Does it matter which material you use to print? PLA, ABS? Etc.
Thank you
I printed it with PLA and it works great ;-)
first assembly was a bit fiddly. the spiral spring snapped and broke from where it is fixes in frame. printing another one.
What slicer and settings did you use? I'm trying to use Cura 4.8 and it is a huge mess. It can't seem to decide how to do the infill, I've set it to do shell before infill which helps, but still really un-optimized.
I printed at 65% scale, and parts aren't fitting (for e.g. the wind up piece is too big) . Should I whittle them down to make them fit?
I wouldn’t recommend to scale the parts down as they already have tight tolerances.
can I use pla filament or do I need a more bendy type of filament
Yes you can use regular pla for this, I used it too.
@@BrianBrocken I used Pla+ and it doesnt work. The spring is not sending enough pull back to make the car winding
What material have you used? I'm tryinig to make springs using PLA and am not able to do so
I used regular PLA for this project.
What is your transmission ratio ?
Hello sir, Can I please have a look at the blueprint with dimension of this wind car ?
The manual isnt updated for the new V2 card versions. Will it still work the same even if the pieces look different?
Hello, yes the car V2 car will perform even better then the V1 (I guess that’s the reason for an updated version) the only difference between the 2 is that the updated version doesn’t need support anymore to print and i added some spacers to keep everything in place but you don’t necessarily have to use them.
Why is it no longer available in thingiverse🥺

Also, when you say the resolution is 0.2mm, what is that, layer height? Or should I use a 0.2mm nozzle?
I think the 0.2mm is referring to the layer height.

I'll have a look into it. If one of the files updates you'll receive a link to download the updated files.

Do you need any other parts
no
@@BrianBrocken great thanks

what is your software to create your model
?
I use Autodesk Fusion 360 to design all my 3D models. Its free for students and hobbyists.

Very nice man! Be sure to post a make on thingiverse ;-)
@@BrianBrocken off course, and I showed the piece in a lecture about 3d printing and the students of automation engineering were amazed
@Plenitude Impressoes 3D Very nice! Thank you very much :-)
Hi, my wheel are blocks
Maybe don't Prinz it at 75% size on a ender 3 with the normal cura setting for pla
I the parts are not fitting
why the fuck is it printed like injection molding?
Because it’s a “gift card”. A card you can give to someone so they can assemble it with the provided instructions. You can see it as a model kit from the early days.
I provided every piece as a separate file for the people who don’t like to print it as a card.
Fake!
