I hope you had a wonderful time on your trip Sam! You should definitely visit New Orleans for Mardi Gras, one of my cousins went back in 2019 and she loved it. I love the fact that L’Oreal put that black beret hat in your gift box. The beret itself is I believe a French one and since you were in New Orleans there’s some French influence down there as well as Creole influence to, but they aren’t the same (Creole is derived from the French, but is a mixture of different cultures like Haitian) and berets were I’m guessing very common to wear back then especially of course in France. The band that played outside of the event, those types of bands are pretty common in New Orleans especially for Mardi Gras.
