A terrific song about the sacrifices Australians have made to preserve peace and democracy.
It is hard to put into words exactly what this song has meant to me over the 30+ since they recorded. I can't listen without becoming emotional. It's message is clear. We should remember that the relative peace we have enjoyed over the past 80 years came at a price. And when we start to forget that and lose the gratitude we should have toward those who sacrificed so much to buy these years of peace and prosperity, we are at risk of repeating history. Never forget why we in western countries haven't been bombed out or invaded by some nut with visions of domination. This is one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded on an album that I still listen to by a band who never got its due. I love Midnight Oil. ❤
Great Music.
