War horse was definitely different and I liked it. I'm not really a horse person but love history. Was a nice change of pace where war movies tend to follow 1 group or person throughout the entirety of the movie and this one jumped around show different aspects and different sides throughout the war and how it might have been

2:05 - "was this built for tourists?" Hysterical, Steven - we get that a lot in England, mostly from people who come here from Disneyland! Dartmoor in Devon is familiar, my parents first retired to Tavistock - I've passed the area of that cottage location (near Sheepstor) many times without knowing - it's a few miles east of the 15-mile main road between the town of Tavistock and the city of Plymouth. Castle Combe is not in Devon or near Dartmoor, it's in Wiltshire, and you can tell it's in the Cotswolds by the golden yellow limestone the houses are made from. Castle Combe is really only noted for the nearby motor racing circuit on the former airfield - spent a day there learning racing lines and a few solo laps in a Formula Ford. It's only 20 miles from the West Kennet location near Avebury that was the Ryan family homestead in Saving Private Ryan. It's a small world?

War Horse is Black Beauty: WW1 edition and yet, it is still in my mind one of the last great movies before the 2020’s.
War Horse, Dreamworks Paulie and Dumbo are still the only movies that can make me cry even a little bit.
I want to eventually see a move adaptation of Sergeant Billy, the goat who went to war. Another emotionally stirring story and another wonderful memorial of all the animals who worked during such a terrible time. ❤

I couldn’t watch this movie all the way through, I just cried watching how the horses were treated during the war.

Need I comment? It was Spielberg. It was total schlock. I did not realize it was Spielberg when I watched it. Halfway through I'm like, "Oh crud, this his Spielberg all over it." I wanted to burn my eyes out with hot coals. I bought two of your books!!!! I'm allowed not to like Spielberg (let's charge an isolated machine gun nest)

I saw Kathleen Kennedy and shivered. That woman damn near ruined a company. She had a great legacy. A shame really.
