I have an idea for the manufacturer: They should include velcro square patches with the same plaid fabric on them to cover the arm patches and make them disappear without having to permanently remove them with a seam ripper
Good idea indeed👍🏻Helicon Tech must include two removable flannel patches of the same colour as the shirt itself. When you’re in the tactical mood you can simply switch them on something more suitable for the moment, or go grey man.
How funny, I wore my grape/wine colored version this weekend. Got it a couple of years ago. Like you, I took the loop patches off. Low key and convenient. Comfortable.
This looks awesome. I go for runs with my dog a lot and want some of the features of a BDU style top but with a civilian look. Definitely going to take off the hook and loop.
I have it in Red, I quite like it. It's my go to Shirt at the range during in lesser than hot weather. It's a good all around shirt for both shooters and graphic designers.... just saying :D
Without the velcro fields is a much cleaner look. I would maybe meet it half way and add on one arm pocket a couple of angled short velcro strips like on some Crye shirts but narrower and closer colour matched.
Ok im 6foot 180ish big chested and wide shoulders , i have about 500 bucks in my cart on the US website, should i get 2xl or xl ? I do wear tees under my long sleeve button ups
I bought the XXS (XS EU) and the shirt is too tight. I need at least one or two sizes bigger. I am 174 cm tall and weigh 58 kg. This shirt is wide in the chest area and very slim in the waist. (and of course wide sleeves) In this video it looks like the shirt is big but actually the guy wears it open and that's why it looks big on him. Look at the part where he wears it closed and it looks like it barely fits him. But of course it depends on which style you prefer, tight or loose.. the company should have given Waist measurements of the shirt. Because of the big difference between the chest area and the waist.
Like beards, the whole flannel fad came from pictures of DEVGRU guys years before. It's pretty lame, but you're right. It's just hard not to cringe at this kind of thing, but if it's good, it's good.
Loop panel delete is a far better look, IMHO. I wonder if there is anyone who does a performance fleece in a multicam palette. My problem with shirts of this design is that the chest pockets drop too low. Super functional but makes certain body shapes saggy, or Man-ooby.
Hmm I'm open to self evaluation, but also not sure what I would change if I were to do it again. Discussed points I thought worth going over and generally like the shirt.
The shirt looks 10x better without the velcro sections on the arm.

Literally just about to coment this.
“I bet grand thumb is to blame for all of this” well dun sir.
Can't believe I'm saying this but.... I like that shirt. Love the idea.

Really nice and detailed review of the MBDU, got mine ordered after the finishing the video!
Interesting product. I might get one. Thanks for sharing man.
There's just somethings you can't just unsee
Genuinely very helpful, thanks for this

I don't dislike the the contrasting side panels, I think they break up the mass of plaid, I also like the idea of removing the Velcro patches.
Garand Thumb approved.

…”well that’s interesting Mr. Patch Monger…” Too funny man!
Thanks for putting the video up.

I dig it without the patch also.
the sleeves are way too long... maybe they sent the shirt ordered my Mil-spec Gorilla by mistake...

I'm 5.6ft and 65kg and I got the small size of this shirt though it looks 1 size bigger than me and slightly loose
I'm not mad at it...
If this is a super extra small but still looks really baggy on you that's concerning. The sleeves are pant leg sized!
Ehe yea being Monkey sized I bottom out on sizing options, but most other people will have more options to dial in how snug of a look they want.
Lol just had to have a fashion show...🤔😳

What's the chestrig in the thumbnail?
I forget which variant, but an old ESSTAC chest rig
About the size you are wearing, what is your height and weight please?
I'm about 5'4" 135 pounds
What chest rig is that?
I forget which variant, but an old ESSTAC chest rig
It looks like an old SOE
@@MILSPECMONKEY Indeed very nice!
" ... me pretending to be a normal person." 😏
What size shirt are you wearing
Euro XS hence the monkey size :)
Not bad
Get rid of the hook & loop !
I bet this dude was a transport dude or a radio operator.
You must be new if you don’t know that “dude”.
🇮🇶$$
Man!!!......I love mil-spec monkey but that dude is boring damn
Sorry not every video is gonna be 'splosions :/
@@MILSPECMONKEY not what I meant he didn't seem to like doing it at all man

Yeah I like the shirt also just didn't sound like you liked it and just sounded like didn't want to be there messing with that shirt or anything
