For 99% of people... The b&w hitch is the best, most convenient and only hitch you will ever need!... I was super confused why it wasn't on this list until you explained why lol... Great video man!

I have the 2 1/2 inch Gen Y and love it you it for my 24 foot inclose car trailer with the weight hitch on it and then i can take it off and put it on my work truck and pull my 16,000 lbs equipment trailer. Yes its a heavy hitch to carry around but i will never worry about it breaking with a heavy load or anything.
Nice, helpful video, but for me a key factor is if it's made in USA or China. As long as I have USA-made choices, I won't buy anything made in China. I hope you'll add that info to your comparison videos.
I’m pretty sure most or all of these are made in the USA. That is also an important factor for me.
You need to tryout Fastway Ball Mounts, 2.5" shank aluminum rated for 18k lbs, they also have bunch of feature options you can choose from, including integrated locks, silent towing, and tongue weigh options.

Can you use Bulletproof accessories on the Curt channel? Basically is the channel width and hole center distance compatible?

I have a box receiver at the rear of my Cat D6, use it for various trailers and cultivators. I get a kick out of the max ratings for hitch balls. Using a 2” ball, I often tow my 40,000 pound 12 row disc harrow. Never a problem. Where they come up with 8000 pound max baffles me to no end. That 1” shank will withstand a whole lot of shear force before she cracks and let’s go.

First don't try this at home lol. You are right they do spec these for a safety factor so on a low speed nice 40,000lbs jaunt 😂 it's good. The reason for the "lower" (not really lower) loads is the shock loading that happens to these hitches where you are pulling xyz down the road and brake or speed up or heaven forbid roll.
Just wanted to say thanks for making this. I'm intentionally looking for a longer hitch to fit both my truck camper and trailer and your measurements helped a ton. I have a friend with a Rhino Hitch and will be giving that a test.

Depending on the weight and ratings of your truck and trailer you may want to consider a weight distribution hitch. I would also highly recommend Weigh Safe if you are towing anywhere near your max capacity. That and go to the scales to ensure you are within proper ratings. Weigh Safe does make a distribution hitch if I remember correctly.
I think hyper hitches are the best, thats just me
Just ordered the shocker xr because it was on sale.. these things have priced themselves way to high for what they are
I don’t think the hitches are priced too high for what they are. To be honest sometimes I am surprised that the cost to build and manufacture ball hitches has remained relatively low compared to other items affected by inflation. To spend $300 or even $600 on a quality hitch when trucks cost $50k or even $100k and a trailer is $10k or more! That’s only 3-6% of the trailers value. It’s literally pennies when you compare it to a new truck. What shocks me is the number of cheap hitches I see attached to high dollar vehicles, pulling expensive trailers.
Holy cow the end of the video about killed me why didn't you just use a small punch and hit the pin through the other side and it would have popped right out second thing would be to use no seize lubricant on both the pin and the shaft the ball sits on you wouldn't had all the problems taking everything apart like you did.....
Partially trying to mimic real world conditions. I daily carry my leatherman so that would be my go to tool. Obviously that plan didn’t last long. Also, this hitch was purchased used so it had significant wear and tear. I replaced the convert-a-ball in another video.
This video was a let down. You didn't cover the most important facts, comparing which is less/more sloppy or noisy when towing down the road.
