I swore to myself that I wouldn't buy any more boots. I have more than I will ever need. HOWEVER, a collab remake of the Japanese WWII boots may just break me down. They are just too cool!
This channel is the reason I got a pair of iron rangers and officially entered the world of nice boots. The jungle boot video was an interesting one. I'm curious if there's anyone out there making a good new one. I'm a size 13 and 6ft 4in tall so finding originals of anything from that era that fits me is a struggle at best. Most of the companies that advertise the jungle boot as new are suspiciously cheap and seem like something for scamming people at gun shows
I seem to remember that in the comments of that video there was a comment mentioning some company producing really good, functionally identical, to the originals. I thought I had saved the link, but I can't find it on this computer. If I somehow manage to scrounge that up, I'll add a comment below here.
Yes, I'm very curious about that too. I have a pair of Palladiums that are at the least very similar to Jungle boots in design. Mine are long with laces and a zipper down the side and a press-stud so the zipper doesn't come open. I don't know how they compare to the original Jungle boots. Mine are still going very well after 7 years but I haven't given them especially heavy usage. According to the hype, Palladium made boots for the French Foreign legion, but they did also make a pair of casual looking ones that had disappointingly thin sole rubber when it got cut up on this channel. I would be extremely interested to know what my model looks like when cut in half. At any rate my model would probably not be half bad to wear hard until you're really done with them and you could just buy a new pair if you really hammer them. I'm satisfied with mine so far (after about 7 years).
I wear a size 14 or 15 (depending on the company) shoe and I think the company you might be looking for is GoRuck, they have an actual black and green boot, but there boots take inspiration from the old school jungle boots and have served me very well both working and professionally. Those boots are called the MAC-V1
Glad you mentioned Palladium. They have an interesting French military history and I've owned pairs for years. They are cozy, cheap, and are great replacements for converse high tops.
Thanks to you Weston for having 2 of my favorites channels. Thanks to Trenton and Heath and Stridewise and your channels for giving me a better idea and appreaction of mens boots and other things as well. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Looking forward to what you do next year....
Been waiting all year for this video! A professional no biased opinion. Awesome that you included wide toe box boots, it's all I can wear with my sasquatch feet.
That info on the jungle boot video was accurate! I ended up doing a presentation for my speech class over US army footwear evolution and used that video as a source!
I’ve been rockin the Thorogood Moc Toe for about a year now. They are absolutely the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. Perfect boot for me. (Finish carpenter mostly)👍
Watching from Central Europe and having watched 4-5 of these boots videos from different channels, it's amazing to me what people in the US consider great value and not expensive 😂
Dang! I was hoping the ND1 would make the list! I was lucky enough to get a pair! They're, in my opinion, the most beautiful and well built boot I've ever purchased, and I can only say that because I trust your excellent tear downs & knowledge regarding boot design.
I'm from Georgia and I've been watching your channel since the first day and I bought Blundstones on your advice, this shoe store is not in my country and I spent a lot of money, but it was worth it. Good luck.
Would you consider reviewing (and cutting in half) dedicated motorcycle boots that offer CE certifications? Would be a great series I think to see what's inside and get thoughts about comfort on and off motorcycles.
This channel has cost me so much money in 2022. I'm looking forward to 2023! Maybe you can do a series on hiking boots? Zamberlan, Kenetrek, Crispi, Hanwag, Vasque, etc? Happy Holidays Weston!
My Iron rangers have exceeded my expectations. I am pretty harsh on my footwear but they have held up perfectly. I never experienced an uncomfortable break in period and can easily wear them 15 hours a day sometimes with no discomfort.
That Keen with the accordion toe is my favorite. If your job requires you to squat at least 20 to 50 times a day. All other boots end up staying that way If you squat in them for a while
Last year based on the reviews I got a pair of Romeo’s from Georgia Boot Co. and a pair of Carolina moc toes. I wear the Georgia’s to work pretty much every day. For boots in the $90-$120, both are obsoletely worth the price. I love the honest reviews and I’m happy to see the variety on the channel. One day I will get a pair of White’s. Until then, I’m happy with tons of reviews in my price range. Thanks for the great work!
Bro you have completely opened my eyes to a new world of boots and shoes. I now check my shoes and boots while shopping. Crazy how poorly shoes are made. And some are 90-125$. I have basically tennis Rackets for feet so I have become super picky and can't order online. Thank you!
That Japanese wwii boot got me into your channel and let me down the long road of now wanting a pair of Japanese white cloud boots ....... Beyond excited for the new colab for an updated version
I've worn redback slip ons for several years. I cannot reccomend them enough. Once my daily boots get shoddy looking I turn them in to work boots and order another pair. I finally ordered a pair of origin boots during their recent sale. Definitely will not be turning those in to work boots though.
So far I’ve got thorogood moc toes for work, whites perry hybrid moc toes for a causal as well as iron ranger in amber harness all from your recommendation and could not be happier! Best boot review Channel on RUclips.
Man I've been watching all the Nicks boots videos and I've never wore a boot that was that quality but they look amazing. I've only spent $300 as a max for boots.
Hey Wes, another great video after a year of many new highs. Would love if you did a video about boots you can try on in person in America. There are lots of Red Wing dealers but other than that most of these boots can't be tried on unless you live in NYC or want to return them by mail til you get the right size, which can end up adding another 20% or more to the cost of the boot. Thanks and happy holidays!
Love this channel. I need new boots that don't cripple my feet and your channel whether I am just interested in seeing boots sliced in half or want information is the best :)
I actually have a pair of keens that I wear just when I take my kids to disneyland. I've tried many options for walking those 20k steps a day and they feel so good
I'm just glad I found out about Jim Green African Rangers from your channel. I have problems with feet that have swollen due to my age, high blood pressure, and lack of exercise during the lockdown (job became 100% teleworking) and their width and softness and PRICE(!) have made them a perfect boot to purchase and wear as I begin my return to outdoor activities. Much appreciated, and Happy New Year! I'll keep an ear to the ground regarding the Japanese boot collaboration, but my interest will depend mainly on their cost... Peace!
Just bought a pair of Carolina moc toe work boots after I saw your video dissecting them. I'm very glad I found this channel otherwise I would have spent that $280 on a boot worth 1/2 of the Carolinas price.
oh man! i gotta go watch the jungle boot vid. i used to have a pair of those in the 90's that bought from a local surplus store! i'd nearly forgotten about it!
Break down some hunting boots!! They’re some of the highest priced boots with the most claims of performance. I’d love to see some of these major brands broken down. Crispi, kenetrek, schnees. Thanks for the awesome content.
I would love to see a top 5 worst sneakers. I’m a sucker for the technical spec’s because I’m a nerd. Love the historical boot idea too because I show clips of your vids in my classroom
After buying a pair of carhartt boots, finding a review of those boots on this channel (not a favorable one apparently lmao), and finding out what makes a decent boot; I bought two pair of Thorogoods (both Moc toe of course) within the last couple months thanks to this channel.
Thanks for your videos and the contest. I was curious of you've ever considered doing a video on a Trickers or Grenson aka English Country-type boot? I've a pair of the Trickers Country Stow and they're great. I also recently purchased a pair of Grenson Fred Triple Welt in hand painted British Tan and did so b/c I was blown away by the triple welt and the overall construction, simply from an external visual perspective of course which is why I'd LOVE to see a video of you cutting a pair in half and digging in to how they do that triple goodyear welt. Just not my pair, lol 🙂 PS. thanks for turning me on to Nicks boots.
I would love to see a pair of Truman boots on your channel. I personally want a pair of moc toes from them, but would be more interested in seeing a video on a boot with their signature commando sole
Looking for a snow boot video. I wear the Columbia Artic and Omni heat boots. Would love to see what they’re made of and especially love the way you cut them apart.
I'd like to suggest cutting a pair of Allen Edmonds park city boots in half. I bought a pair a year ago and they are my favorite casual boot in my collection so far. Also, I just bought a pair of Georgia moc toe made in usa work 8" boots and there is a lot to like about them for only $200
i would love to see a "can can a cobbler do" video. showing types of repairs cobblers can address and how what to ask for. this would be great for repairs and new shoes/boots. like what can i ask for, what can i expect and what is a reasonable price.
At one point or another you have reviewed almost every one of the big Pacific NW boot makers I would love to see you cut apart a pair of Dayton's and see how they compare.
I went with the Thorogood moc toe in black this time around. They felt great right out of the box, and look awesome. I'm not super hard on boots, so these should last a long time, and they're in the sweet right away.
Thanks for all your great insight & information sharing. I’m 70+, retired, have knee & foot issues of course… I really lik American made heritage type boots. My 8084 IR I use for Harley riding (Road King). 1000 Mile for casual outings. Seems like so many Seniors wear sneakers, mostly New Balance, and very few boot wearers. Been riding motorcycles, hiking, hunting forever so boots for every situation. Is there an all around, comfortable, heritage boot style, not brand specific, for the Senior that’s slowing down, not adventuring as much? Thanks for all you do😎
You should do a review on performance boots. Salomon, Lowa, Han Wag... they are quite expensive and it would be interesting to see what is inside and if they also sell just the name or of they are actually worth the price
I can't vouch for their boots, but ecco sneakers have very wide toeboxes and still look very nice IMO. I always go back to them for sneakers, they are so comfortable.
I saw a video (that happened to follow this one) where you compared Nicks men’s vs women’s boots. Pls consider Thursday’s men’s vs women’s boots. I love your videos and delighted to be part of 4%! Thanks!
Thanks man I took your advice and bought a pair of your most recommended boots when they were just 200 bucks 👌. Have a merry Christmas and all the best from Northern California
I normally prefer taller boots but I also love my converse and palladium's. I really hope the repro Japanese boot goes through, I really enjoyed that video and most definitely will buy a pair.
I've had great luck, in terms of value, with Herman survivor professional boots! The driller boots have stayed very comfortable and kept my feet dry in some very nasty conditions!
Just a heads up that you can get heavily discounted blemished boots at the Thorogood outlet store in Merrill, WI for about a third to half of the retail price. The flaws vary widely and seem to sometimes include sizing errors, but I picked up two pairs with no obvious flaws for ~$90 each.
I was shocked you mentioned Palladium boots. I used to have a pair of them. I’m curious about those Lems boots. I’ve been debating getting some Jim Greens recently.
Nice video! Strange that I watch boot videos, but I'm not the only one lol. I have some Russell Mocassins that I love(Zephyr 2) that I would love your take on.
I must be a contrarian, owned Red Wings most of my life (supplied by work), and Hated them - soles wear quickly. Bought a pair of Timberland Pro ($125) treated with mink oil, and have worn them nearly every day for 8 years
If the Jungle boot video was so popular do a followup comparing the origionals to Rothco, Fox, and others. Also how about a cowboy boot comparison of cheaper brands: Dingo, Laredo, Durango?
Stumbled across this channel a couple months ago, really neat stuff and entertaining. It would be cool to see you cut up some Asolo boots, I have owned a couple of their hiking boots and am curious about their construction.
Have you ever heard of the Duradero boots!? They run $175-209 and they offer 1 free resole on each boot they have. Would love to see those and a cut up of the Qlty Dnvr boots.!!!! Thanks again for all your research and knowledge!!!!!
I love your videos but could you review or recommend some socks to wear with some of these boots? I have thoroughgoods which are so comfy it never mattered what socks I wore but I just got the Whites Perry's which don't have a counter in the heal and I'm getting raw. Are there socks that can help with that?
Get a high quality wallet, belt or MORE in the Rose Anvil shop here - bit.ly/44jXLNu
Where are the Nick's boots?
What boots are you wearing right now?
How bout you do a good thorough video on Red Wing 606
I swore to myself that I wouldn't buy any more boots. I have more than I will ever need. HOWEVER, a collab remake of the Japanese WWII boots may just break me down. They are just too cool!
Yeah I REALLY can’t wait to see that colab!!! The simplicity but incredible design always amazed me and to have a pair would be incredible.
I hope theyll have wide widths!!
agree. dangit. 😬🤪
Agreed.

Probably not so authentic... but me too!

I like to refer to them as "offroad converse". Lol
The old pairs are awesome, try a new ones they are nothing like old ones quality went way down!
The fact that you still stick with the redbacks are a sign that they are good and comfy; so much you still wear them and not others😊
I bought Redbacks on the strength of your reviews alone and loved them so much that I bought a steel-toed pair for work, absolutely brilliant 👏
Thanks Wes for all you do...
We are all looking forward to everything you give us in 2023...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...
I second these sentiments! Thank you for the videos. I have learned a lot. Merry Christmas.
Been a great year Weston! Would love to see more JK boots on the channel and see how they stack up vs Nicks, Whites, etc.
That info on the jungle boot video was accurate! I ended up doing a presentation for my speech class over US army footwear evolution and used that video as a source!

Been watching rose anvil for awhile now. This channel has helped me become more knowledgeable in my boot/shoe game. Much appreciation.
This channel has cost me so much money in 2022. I'm looking forward to 2023! Maybe you can do a series on hiking boots? Zamberlan, Kenetrek, Crispi, Hanwag, Vasque, etc? Happy Holidays Weston!
As an Aussie, I love it that your wearing Redback boots.
Merry Christmas Weston and the whole crew at Rose Anvil including Toaster! Thanks for another great year of content.

I bought a pair of thorogood boot because of this channel earlier this year. Best boot purchase I ever made! Thanks for an awesome channel!

Salomon Forces XA Forces 8" GTX EN Black is the best boot ever , waterproof , warm , and quality build . i like this boots allot

I enjoyed your videos this year. One suggestion for next year, if I may, is fewer sneaker videos, and sticking mostly to boots. Thanks!
it's glad to heard that you are working on the Japanese WWII boots, Thanks!
Whites most definitely… been using the 💨 jumpers for few years now for yard and house work or landscaping and are built well indeed
Man I've been watching all the Nicks boots videos and I've never wore a boot that was that quality but they look amazing. I've only spent $300 as a max for boots.

Can you please do a series where you compare the big Pacific Northwest brands, or the top 10 highest quality brands?
I actually ended up buying a pair of Redbacks because of you. Nice to see them being so highly rated for comfort.
oh man! i gotta go watch the jungle boot vid. i used to have a pair of those in the 90's that bought from a local surplus store! i'd nearly forgotten about it!
Break down some hunting boots!! They’re some of the highest priced boots with the most claims of performance. I’d love to see some of these major brands broken down. Crispi, kenetrek, schnees. Thanks for the awesome content.
More value = more better
more better = more leather

Thorogoods are super comfortable. The soles they use wear out super fast.
I remember you saying you would look into the Japanese modern build. I am soooo in on that. Love the channel.
One of my favorite RUclips channels hands down! 🙌🏻
Also, I just bought a pair of Georgia moc toe made in usa work 8" boots and there is a lot to like about them for only $200
Yeaaah. Grant stone is the best value boot. Cheaper than many other higher end brands, but with all leather construction
Thanks for clearing up the scam issue I almost fell for it and glad I got in on the real contest. Keep up the great work 💯
i would love to see a "can can a cobbler do" video. showing types of repairs cobblers can address and how what to ask for. this would be great for repairs and new shoes/boots. like what can i ask for, what can i expect and what is a reasonable price.
Because of the Jungle Boot video, I found a pair of size 4.5 (I wear a Ladies size 6C) from an army surplus store. I love them.
Merry Christmas Weston, really enjoy your program.
At one point or another you have reviewed almost every one of the big Pacific NW boot makers I would love to see you cut apart a pair of Dayton's and see how they compare.
The lems boulder boot is the lightest and most comfortable boot I've ever owned
I went with the Thorogood moc toe in black this time around. They felt great right out of the box, and look awesome. I'm not super hard on boots, so these should last a long time, and they're in the sweet right away.

I really lik American made heritage type boots. My 8084 IR I use for Harley riding (Road King). 1000 Mile for casual outings.
Seems like so many Seniors wear sneakers, mostly New Balance, and very few boot wearers. Been riding motorcycles, hiking, hunting forever so boots for every situation.
Is there an all around, comfortable, heritage boot style, not brand specific, for the Senior that’s slowing down, not adventuring as
much?
Thanks for all you do😎
You should review Nisolo!
Sustainably made with really high quality materials. I own several pairs of them and they’re all class.
You should do a review on performance boots. Salomon, Lowa, Han Wag... they are quite expensive and it would be interesting to see what is inside and if they also sell just the name or of they are actually worth the price
Another great and informative video. I also recommend Thorogoods to everyone in my trade.. Merry Christmas Weston to you and your family.
I can't vouch for their boots, but ecco sneakers have very wide toeboxes and still look very nice IMO. I always go back to them for sneakers, they are so comfortable.
Love the videos Weston. Keep making them and we'll definitely keep watching them. Well done...
I saw a video (that happened to follow this one) where you compared Nicks men’s vs women’s boots. Pls consider Thursday’s men’s vs women’s boots.
I love your videos and delighted to be part of 4%! Thanks!
I ❤ my Thorogood boots! Extremely comfortable and the wear so nicely.
I’ve got the 8” Thorogood Moc steel toe boots with the crazy horse leather! They are so comfortable
Been waiting all year for this. Great job this year!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
I am very curious about the potential collab with the Japanese WWII boots. Loving the collabs!
You have had the best videos. Has helped me make some important decisions. Thank you. Merry Christmas ❤️
I would Love to see you cut open a pair of Wolverine safety toe 6" boots! Everyone on my site wears em.
Bought a pair of palladium pampa lites + pack black . Definitely worth it.
Thanks for the recommendation
Just a heads up that you can get heavily discounted blemished boots at the Thorogood outlet store in Merrill, WI for about a third to half of the retail price. The flaws vary widely and seem to sometimes include sizing errors, but I picked up two pairs with no obvious flaws for ~$90 each.
I was shocked you mentioned Palladium boots. I used to have a pair of them. I’m curious about those Lems boots. I’ve been debating getting some Jim Greens recently.
Japanese boot with Kangaroo leather would be awesome.
I would love to see a cut in half 217 Redwing 9 inch logger. Good stuff Wes
I love thorogood boots. Glad they get props here.
Nice video! Strange that I watch boot videos, but I'm not the only one lol. I have some Russell Mocassins that I love(Zephyr 2) that I would love your take on.
My favourite boot video of the year as also the Japanese military boot.
Thank you for all the great content over 2022. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I must be a contrarian, owned Red Wings most of my life (supplied by work), and Hated them - soles wear quickly.
Bought a pair of Timberland Pro ($125) treated with mink oil, and have worn them nearly every day for 8 years
The JK boots and the origin boots look very similar to me. Before I bought my iron rangers I went back and forth between origin and iron rangers.
The Lems boulder boot look really nice! Thx
If the Jungle boot video was so popular do a followup comparing the origionals to Rothco, Fox, and others. Also how about a cowboy boot comparison of cheaper brands: Dingo, Laredo, Durango?
Winter boots. Fleece lined like Uggs but not Uggs.
Thanks for all your great videos this year, I appreciate all your hard work.
Merry Christmas 🎉
You The Boot Man''Merry Christmas and Blessed new 2023 reviews of boots ,Thank you for what you do.
I wore some Redhawks to Universal Studios in Orlando, comfy but made the top of my foot sore.
With that “S” hair curl and a Henry Cavill out, I nominate you as the next Superman.
