‘Yes It Do’: Florida Man Says Child Support Warrant Justifies High-Speed Chase

- A Florida man is accused of taking police on a high-speed chase that ended with his surrender on January 27. The Volusia County Sheriff’s said the pursuit began when Zachary Teytelbaum allegedly fled a traffic stop in his blue Mercedes, which would get banged up in the chase, before surrendering in the middle of a highway. While being taken into custody, the 21-year-old told deputies he fled because he thought he had a child support warrant out on him. Teytelbaum was charged with attempting to elude law enforcement and booked into the Flagler County Jail.

Yeah even though i grew up in areas where it was common for my peers sag their pants I never would intentionally wear my pants below my waist.
Even nowadays i usually wear my pants just below my bellybutton or so, and i can't stand it when pants don't fit very well or steadily slide down during various task. Sometimes it happens even while I'm wearing a belt.

I've only ever seen 1 (ONE) case where someone out-ran the helicopter, and that was only because of 4 things: (1) really fast car, (2) really good driver, (3) really straight road, (4) not a fast helicopter (news, not police). Even then, they still didn't get away, and were arrested within the hour.

Apparently it’s some new legislation that not everyone is aware of. Take out 3-4 cars, human beings (even possibly children) in the cars you’re passing illegally, ones that could die? Sheesh. C’mon now. He had every right to run. Also he did lie down on the roadway and didn’t resist there, so they shouldn’t count the verbal assaults or the struggling. Better read up on these things. 😅

It’s called a capias and is usually issued when a defendant in a child support case fails to appear for family court.

@@winning3329 The laws aren't gender specific. They may have started out because of the several men who were in arrears by thousands, and laws were finally passed to penalize them for it, but now, they're for deadbeat parents. Period.
You're right, though, that it's sad that there have to be laws enforcing child support payments for noncustodial parents to pay for the children they helped bring into this world.
Children will always be the innocent party stuck in these situations, suffering the loss of a parent who's disinterested in their life.

This is one of the things that has never made sense to me. If they are not paying the support owed why suspend their license making it so they get arrested and can not get to work. Instead just make it automatically come out of whatever pay check they get like their taxes.
I agree but I'm guessing it could be because they like making life more difficult for males , or there's some kind of outlier or detail that I'm not seeing as to why that wouldn't be a viable option.

Cracked me up when he took that corner too fast. It's bad enough when someone who can drive is reckless, this dude can't drive.
When you're not used to driving fast, and then you find yourself doing a lot of it, it creeps up on you and becomes normal surprisingly quickly.
I remember when I was learning to drive, and I was coming up to the end of my first dual carriageway, approaching a roundabout, thinking I was doing a reasonable speed because it was much lower than what I was just doing for 5 minutes. I was flying at that roundabout at over 30 mph and my instructor had to step on some more brakes. That would have been nasty.

Here’s a word of advice for anyone on alimony and child support which are the same thing in retrospective they are lawsuits against the opposing party once you’re on child support there’s only three ways to get off child support (1) The judge who ordered the child support reverses the order! (2) The mother remarries and the child is adopted by the new father. (3) You pay your debt with child support administration office and satisfy your obligations to the courts. At the end of the day child support never goes away just like alimony you’re being sued once the judge puts in the order for child support 99% of the time the judge will never reverse the order! Hence you will die on child support or alimony!.. The only way for the states to not be able to arrest you is you have to “MOVE” out of the “STATE WHO PUT YOU ON CHILD SUPPORT” and you cannot move into any connecting states to the state that you are on child support for. and when you go to court for failure to pay child support it is against the law to arrest anyone for failure to paying child support you are arrested on contempt of court!🕵️
You mean they've changed it, whew. I was hoping they would, I was praying that they would because I had a sister who would literally feed on this,🤦🏻♀️🙄 however it doesn't change the fact some guys aren't aren't good people, she had a baby daddy, well a liquid donor being nice he even went so far as working day labor so he wouldn't be tagged for child support but her second husband was,so messed up. And when he lost his job she went through the court to get more support but that backfired in her face, I smiled like the Cheshire cat for the rest of the day after she got of the phone with her lawyer, I overheard her crying and screaming why she got less than before.
There's short-term alimony and lifetime alimony. It all depends on how long you've been married. I was lucky enough to divorce after 6years and 11 months. Had I made it to year 7 I would be obligated to pay short term alimony 5-10yrs. I'm stuck with child support but I don't mind that one since I spend over 50% of the time with my child
Child support is to pay for the child you helped conceive, usually raised by the mother. It ends when the child becomes an adult.
Alimony is on a case by case review, and I agree, isn't always fair.
