Sebastian is the No. 1 FRAGRANCE REVIEWER on RUclips period. I enjoy Tiff Benson as well because I feel her taste in fragrance aligns with my taste; also her style is so fresh.
My uncle owns a cigar shop. I love the smell of tobacco. Before his father passed away, he used to supply him with all of the shredded, loose, pipe tobacco he wanted in large, hermetic, glass jars. I opened them to smell the rich, damp, dark, sweet, pitted-fruit aromas sealed inside. It almost made my mouth water. It was wonderful. I'm not sure such a thing can be bottled in scent form. I've never smelled anything else like it, but hope to at least be reminded of it every time I try fragrances claiming tobacco notes. To me, pipe tobacco is the highest mark of a tobacco note, but I haven't found it in a fragrance yet.
I love tobacco scent, one of my fav is CHERGUI, by Serge Lutens and RED TOBACCO by mancera. Can't get enough of those, i need a full bottle though, 😊😊😊. Great video, Sebastian, tyvm. ❤. You are one of the best fragrance reviewer, if not the best 👌👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Pure havane has seriously addictive dry down , tobacco vanilla dries to a cream pudding smell that's almost identical to the cheaper noir extreme on my skin , Herod is the niche King and pure havane the designer King
I had the same experience in Haiti growing up!!!! My dad and my uncles used to smoke cigars and drink rhum playing cards and dominos... I love a tobacco based scent!!!
Many of these are great, some I haven't tried. One tobacco fragrance you didn't mention is Aramis Tobacco reserve. It's a really nice one. Herod is my favourite also.
Great list, Sebastian. I would add Volutes and Fumerie Turque. I love the note of tobacco especially for Fall and Winter. I need to sample Tobacco Oud by TF.
what a terrific list I too grew up around smokers TOBACCO is a big note in a lot of my fragrances Ive got PURE HAVANE & BACK TO BLACK - I love HONEY TOBACCO SPICE BOMB is an old fave that Ive never thought of as a TOBACCO frag (ARAMIS actually makes a great TOBACCO) TOBACCO VANILLE is a gorgeous staple that I will always own got CREATION E as well - so sophisticated JAZZ CLUB is a new addition to my collection I recently bought RED TOBACCO - my only one from MANCERA CHERGUI is a masterpiece that I didnt realize was TOBACCO based and I even own HEROD wow I never realized how many TOBACCO-based scents I have thanks JIM from MIAMI BEACH

my favorite tobacco scent of late is : Eau des Beaux from L 'Occitane. It is a warm vanilic tobacco with incense and cypress. Not too sweet since it doesn't contain honey. not expensive and exactly what i want in a tobacco perfume.
I love the smell of tobacco,demeters pipe tobacco smells good for the cheap price of 20 dollars,doesnt last long but it smells really sweet.The after smell is a nice touch.Its a singular tobbacco smell by the way.
Great review spotlight Sebastian. As of now, I am just in awe for the Nicolai, as a wonderful take on the note, but I felt it has a minty tobacco leaf, but it's soo well done,. Also Frank 2, has a enormous opening, but the drydown is unbeatable with a floral peak. Thanks
Atelier Cologne Tobacco Nuit is my holy grail tobacco scent. It’s intoxicating! I never hear about it in the fragrance community. I wonder if anyone else has discovered it?

Some. Other good tobacco perfumes i have tested are atkinson-the odd fellow bouquet, daniel josier - ambre tabac, miller harris - feuilles de tabac and phaedon - tabac rouge

I agree with ur comment of jazz club.. at the beginning I loved it but went to sephora to try it again and the sweetness lasted too long.. Pavilion Rouge and Frank #3 are the ones I may like most :)

Sebastian, would you consider Royal Crown Tabac Royal particularly masculine? It sounds like it is my type of fragrance, but one online review mentioned a lavender note and I am not a fan of lavender.

Really nice choices. Some on here I'll definitely be looking out for to at least sample in the New Year. I really enjoy the smell of tobacco. Aramis's new Tobacco Reserve is superb. I also enjoy Rasasi's Tobacco Blaze (more ash than dried leaf) and Shuhrah (can't remember if Tobacco is listed as a note but something very much like it is instantly detectable)

Parfums De Marly Herod is also mu favourite. However, they have watered down it so much that you hardly get any smell. The drydown was the BEST. not anymore. Extremely disappointed that they have killed this masterpiece !!!!

Thanks for the informative vedio. I like your concept in categorizing fragrances based on the major or dominant notes. I'm not a big fan of tobacco unless it is soft and well blended with other notes. I have herod, churgey , and pure havana. I don't wear them too much cause here in gulf the weather is too hot and i like more aromatic , fresh and oud fragrances.
Great fragrances though i like herod alot but i can't smell tobacco in it. I sense more tobacco in layton and as you said, in your face tobacco smell in mancera red tobacco which i totally adore. I rather find herod a niche version of guerlain ideal eu de parfum..or may be my sense of smell sucks

I love the tobacco on the dry down of spicebomb extreme. Is there anything out there with a similar tobacco/incense kind of note, but more prominent in the top or heart.. even with the vanilla but not as strong? will a xerjoff fit the bill? or tom ford tobacco vanille? Id love and appreciate some direction!

I’m into tobacco notes of late, getting some tobacco scents samples from LuckyScent, & so was drawn to this video of yours. A really good & informative one-thank you! I’m wondering if you’ve tried any from David Jourquin like Cuir Tabac or Cuir Altesse. I blind bought Kiste by Slumberhouse (have you tried it?), but the one that I tried & fell in love with, & of which I got a full bottle, is a cologne called Tabaco by Coqui Coqui. (Have you heard of it?) A real bargain too at $90 (+tax at LuckyScent) for 100ml. It has that fresher leafy tobacco scent-not the dried/smoky variety-that you describe of some of the frags you own. (If you’re unfamiliar, Coqui Coqui is a brand from Valladolid Mexico.) Tabaco reminds me of the scent of the men in our family from my childhood growing up in the 60s & 70s. I get an image of a fresh, clean-shaven, elegant man, smart-casually-dressed in all-white-neatly-pressed linen, standing on the deck of a yacht looking out onto the sunlit ocean, with a slight breeze blowing. Perfect for our tropical climate in hot & humid Manila (Philippines). I feel like I’ve still just stepped out of the shower even 5-6 hours after I’ve sprayed it. Yummy! (I’m female, btw)
I def know about Coqui Coqui but never tried their Tobacco. I have tried the two David Jorquin fragrances as well. Me too reminds me of the tobacco cigars my dad and his buddies smoked. Also reminds me of the pipe some relatives smoked too. :)
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews the man-in-my-mind may be holding a tobacco-filled pipe... it remains unlit, though. Forgot to mention that there are whiffs of English or French lavender radiating from him. Of the men in our family, only my grandfather smoked a pipe & cigars. (My dad & his half- & step- brothers smoked cigarettes.) I have a clear memory from when I was maybe 6 or 7, of my grandfather driving, with us-a few of his grandkids-sitting in the back seat of his tiny sports car, AC on, his window rolled down just a crack, while he’s puffing on his pipe. I hated the suffocating smoke in the confined space, but I remember appreciating the scent.😆 (I’m a smoker, but I’d never smoke in a tiny space-well-ventilated or not. Hehe)
I have a jar of 18.21 shave glide in tobacco, and I absolutely love the fragrance. In fact, I don't use it for shaving at all, I just dab a bit behind the ears and on the wrists before I go out for the evening. I have a sample of the spirits on the way, and I expect to purchase a full bottle if the spirit sample is as good as the shave glide. They also make a pomade in sweet tobacco, which is how I discovered 18.21. My barber put it in my hair, and a few hours later I called him to find out what it was. I had to know! I immediately went back and bought a bottle of the shave glide from him.

I own franck boclet tobacco and it's a fantastic fragrance. Its performance is great and it's also a huge compliment getter.

cK One Shock is also tobacco scent. Cinnamon tobacco. Entry level, but the tobacco smell is so good!

I didn't like the tobacco note in fragrances, but Issara by Dusita changed my opinion and I've been in love with it ever since. Great video as usual!

I have herod, churgey , and pure havana. I don't wear them too much cause here in gulf the weather is too hot and i like more aromatic , fresh and oud fragrances.

Great fragrances though i like herod alot but i can't smell tobacco in it. I sense more tobacco in layton and as you said, in your face tobacco smell in mancera red tobacco which i totally adore. I rather find herod a niche version of guerlain ideal eu de parfum..or may be my sense of smell sucks

I love the tobacco on the dry down of spicebomb extreme. Is there anything out there with a similar tobacco/incense kind of note, but more prominent in the top or heart.. even with the vanilla but not as strong? will a xerjoff fit the bill? or tom ford tobacco vanille? Id love and appreciate some direction!

I’m into tobacco notes of late, getting some tobacco scents samples from LuckyScent, & so was drawn to this video of yours. A really good & informative one-thank you! I’m wondering if you’ve tried any from David Jourquin like Cuir Tabac or Cuir Altesse. I blind bought Kiste by Slumberhouse (have you tried it?), but the one that I tried & fell in love with, & of which I got a full bottle, is a cologne called Tabaco by Coqui Coqui. (Have you heard of it?) A real bargain too at $90 (+tax at LuckyScent) for 100ml. It has that fresher leafy tobacco scent-not the dried/smoky variety-that you describe of some of the frags you own. (If you’re unfamiliar, Coqui Coqui is a brand from Valladolid Mexico.) Tabaco reminds me of the scent of the men in our family from my childhood growing up in the 60s & 70s. I get an image of a fresh, clean-shaven, elegant man, smart-casually-dressed in all-white-neatly-pressed linen, standing on the deck of a yacht looking out onto the sunlit ocean, with a slight breeze blowing. Perfect for our tropical climate in hot & humid Manila (Philippines). I feel like I’ve still just stepped out of the shower even 5-6 hours after I’ve sprayed it. Yummy! (I’m female, btw)
I def know about Coqui Coqui but never tried their Tobacco. I have tried the two David Jorquin fragrances as well. Me too reminds me of the tobacco cigars my dad and his buddies smoked. Also reminds me of the pipe some relatives smoked too. :)
Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews the man-in-my-mind may be holding a tobacco-filled pipe... it remains unlit, though. Forgot to mention that there are whiffs of English or French lavender radiating from him. Of the men in our family, only my grandfather smoked a pipe & cigars. (My dad & his half- & step- brothers smoked cigarettes.) I have a clear memory from when I was maybe 6 or 7, of my grandfather driving, with us-a few of his grandkids-sitting in the back seat of his tiny sports car, AC on, his window rolled down just a crack, while he’s puffing on his pipe. I hated the suffocating smoke in the confined space, but I remember appreciating the scent.😆 (I’m a smoker, but I’d never smoke in a tiny space-well-ventilated or not. Hehe)

I have a jar of 18.21 shave glide in tobacco, and I absolutely love the fragrance. In fact, I don't use it for shaving at all, I just dab a bit behind the ears and on the wrists before I go out for the evening. I have a sample of the spirits on the way, and I expect to purchase a full bottle if the spirit sample is as good as the shave glide. They also make a pomade in sweet tobacco, which is how I discovered 18.21. My barber put it in my hair, and a few hours later I called him to find out what it was. I had to know! I immediately went back and bought a bottle of the shave glide from him.
