mine had an over flow outlet on the back. take our the stopper and fill until it reaches the level of the over flow hole. other versions have a glass window on the back that let you see the water level

philipb Thank you very much. All other videos had the glass window part on them so I didn’t know.
They are different engines I know this because of the boiler colour
all I did was strip the paint off the boiler and then rather than repaint it I polished the brass
