I've never played this game before, but I'm guessing you throw out all your items and go super low health so it doesn't have to count down as many points?
It's mainly personal preference. I think the SNES controller is a little more comfortable to hold and I prefer the button layout on it. Although I will say that the Genesis controller directional pad is a little easier on my thumb. Plus it is nice to use the same controller for NES/SNES/GEN games.

darbian Yes, the thing is 720p60 is a bit too much for my Internet... I will try on my phone. In 30FPS blinking due to invulnerability or the bosses being hit is absent.
It's actually funny what happens in the 30FPS variant, when sometimes Mickey is completely invisible when invulnerable, instead of the usual blinking. Think I saw this in some Mario games on some?
