Leg o Mutton Netting 2021

In October 2021, the club helped remove and relocate some of the Carp inhabiting the Leg o Mutton Reservoir in Barnes SW London. All the fish were relocated to The Potomac lake in Gunnersbury Park.

Question should be why are they releasing carp back into the lake, they are a pest.

They aren’t. They are removing them.

Why are they removing the Carp, I was there today and saw many !

Multiple reasons. They are in danger because of the level the water gets at times, they get attacked by the birds as it is mainly a bird sanctuary and they also encourage illegal poaching as fishing is not allowed there.

Thanks for your reply, the water level is definitely low, I saw many carp with half their body out of the water in shallow areas yesterday.

@@seanclark2085 Unfortunately it is not possible to get all the fish in one netting so some had to remain.
