Received mine today (first set) and I’m having the exact same issue. Called customer support and they acted like I was installing them incorrectly. They wanted to set up mobile service but I told them we needed to do a return since I don’t want to pay for mobile service. Hopefully someone at Tesla knows something, customer support said he sent a couple messages.
@jonbecker2538 I initially did it through the mobile app and opened a service request. That was not correct and someone called me from the service department then transferred me to the "Tesla Shop" customer service.
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
I had the same issue and installed them backward just like you did. 2021 model y performance.
Thanks for sharing!
Same issue in Calgary Canada
Bummer, thought they would have sorted out the issue by now.

Wow I can't believe they haven't addressed this yet.
I have the issue got it almost two weeks ago contacted TESLA CS about the issue but no response from
TESLA. whats the Tesla number to call?
I'm wondering if this is just a Model Y problem. I just bought a 2025 Model S and installed them today & they were oriented correctly.
@mattkramer4132 Interesting. Is the notch in the door panel oriented on the same side as it is on the Y?
I’m having the same problem, which number did you use to contact Tesla?
