I never worked in a production shop shop that wet sanded except finish buffing. Olden days maybe. Worked out pretty dang well. Iwata spray gun I see. Me too.
i would be finishing the car and get all the panels on and out i the natural light before adding any thing to them panels as painting the doors flat may change the way the metallic particles sit to having them painted on the car when painting trick colours i like to paint the whole car in one go put a few coats of clear strip parts off flat and clear to get rid of edge and masking lines then i know the metallic pattern is right all over the car

I figured since Don shot the doors the trunk lid and and to hood you’d reinstall all the panels including fenders then shoot the final coat on the car so everything matched totally. Is there any concern at all about the panels matching the actual body of the car as far as color and pearl? If I lived in your town, I’d go nowhere else but your shop. Is this a project car for you or Don, or is it a customers car? See you in the next installment.

Then they are angled differently from the fenders and quarters and reflect the light differently

He’s gonna try to spray the same consistency and it should match. It’s the same paint, same as the s2000 paint job. This is also my bosses car 😁
