ik this was asked 8 months ago, but to answer your question I'd say yes and no. There are definitely tons of opportunities to talk to professors after class and during office hours. You'll just have to make the effort to take advantage of it since it's not like in high school where you casually run into your teacher and start small talk.
hey not sure if youll see this but I might be going to university of Michigan for a study abroad year from my uni(in Ireland), I was just wondering when the autumn semester usually starts?
Can you choose your room-mate? My long time best friend and I are both considering U of M. I know it's not usually recommended to dorm with someone you know but he's like my twin brother.
I know this might be a little late, but you can always request to be roommates. A lot of the times those requests are accepted but they're not always guaranteed.

LoL I know I am tardy to the party! But I want to go to U of M for grad school and I was wondering what the best things about campus are? What's the vibe there?
LoL by vibe, are people nice? and is it more small towny or bigger city style? Otherwise thank you this is a very informative video getting lots of interesting info about the school.
freshman here. have to say the parties are hit or miss (a lot are invite-only and you really can only get in if you know somebody in a frat). i normally go to triangle and delta upsilon, their parties are always pretty good though they only throw them every few weeks or so.
It’s been my dream to go to U of M my whole life but my grades are total shit and my GPA is really low, it’s not like I’m not trying, I’m just stupid I guess lol. I’ll never get in :(
I'm a senior in High School and my dream school is U of M. I have a 4.04 GPA and a 30 ACT, with 2 years of Section Leader in my marching band, 3 years of Youth in Government: Judicial Club, NHS and NTHS, founded a bowling team, etc. What do you think my chances of acceptance are?
Dude, I don't want to get your hopes up, but one, if you are from Michigan, you are going to have killer odds. If you are from out of state, you still have a killer opportunity, as long as you present yourself as a diverse student. I go to Georgetown and considered UMich heavily, and let me tell ya, you seem like you have an impressive resume. Just embrace your individuality in your app and put yourself all out there
I'm at u of m now, and after about 7 weeks, I know where most things, at least in central campus, as well as most of downtown ann arbor, are. It's nice. Once you understand how the diag is positioned in comparison to everything else.
Hey so I know that I'm about two and a half years too late, but I'd like to know why people give out those basketball tickets for free. I might be going to U of M in the fall of 2018 and I'd just like to get all of the information I can.
University of Illinois, University of Michigan, and University of Wisconsin is highly regarded in the midwest those are probably the best Big Ten schools in "terms" of academics other than Northwestern that is highly regarded.
Hey so I'm extremely interested in this school, but the test scores are insane. I have a 4.0 and just a 31 on my ACT, trying to get into CoE. Do you think I'll get in.
You probably will be able to get into U of M. I got in with a 3.96 GPA, 1150 SAT (which is extremely below the u of m average), was in NHS for 4 years, in Science Olympiad for one year, and did Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as recorded my work experience. I still believe I was under-qualified, and I had to take summer classes to go. The point is, I got accepted. Just work your ass off on the application. I worked hard on all of my essays. Hope this helped, and good luck!
plz how is ann arbor is it good place to be in and live ur life in it ? 🤔 any crime rate like murder is it high? in planning to move there but I'm worry ☺🔫☺🔫 I don't want to die
This was the most helpful video on UMich I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot)
Thinking about going to Michigan and this really helped!!! Thank you

Which is the best faculty here?
How is the international stud intake ?

My parents are making me go to U of M because they went there and it's only 20 minutes away from where we live now
Go where you want to go. It's up to you not your parents

U of M is a great school. Be happy you live that close to such a great school and that you don't have to pay for living expenses at a campus tbh

I'm going there next year. 3.86 unweighted gpa and 1460 SAT. Make sure you have good essays
Hey man if you're not in a frat, what's the party scene like? How strict are dorms? Also... you know anything about skiing near mich?

Hey, this was 7 months ago. Did you apply? If yes, did you get in?
I'm honestly afraid of going to a big college because of getting lost on the campus
How did you get used to it???
I'm at u of m now, and after about 7 weeks, I know where most things, at least in central campus, as well as most of downtown ann arbor, are. It's nice. Once you understand how the diag is positioned in comparison to everything else.
How hard is it to transfer from university Michigan flint
Raj Thomas not too hard as long as you have around 3.8 GPA with good essays

Andromeda D UChicago isn’t big 10.
