Fun fact: the sub version of this anime didn't get much attention, so they sent it over to get it dubbed, but said they didn't care what they did with it, so basically the voice actors got the scriped but decided not to use it, so it basically all improvised while still following the plot
The anime didnt do terrible, in fact it did pretty well in the ratings, and fans wanted more in Japan, they just allowed 100 percent freedom because the studio believed the Japanese folklore wouldn't go well over with American audiences, the English producer of the anime just flat out lied and made up the story about the anime being bad in Japan, and expressed a dislike or no-care for anime series in general

And the random of patchouli wasn't so random, I was just playing off the visual of him recoiling from the smudge stick. I've never known patchouli is in smudge sticks, but to me they're a step away from incense and crystal/new age land, two things that remind me of patchouli, which I think smells awful.
Basically the daVinci ghost was given my taste.
Vic, by the way, did such a great job. I gave him NO direction and he said that "What an apostle" line EXACTLY how I heard it in my head and I was thrilled because I just thought it was so funny (and obvious that it sounded so much like asshole). I know that sounds conceited, but I was just so proud of figuring the similarity of those two words because, to be honest, I'm not that bright. lol

Fun fact: the sub version of this anime didn't get much attention, so they sent it over to get it dubbed, but said they didn't care what they did with it, so basically the voice actors got the scriped but decided not to use it, so it basically all improvised while still following the plot
The anime didnt do terrible, in fact it did pretty well in the ratings, and fans wanted more in Japan, they just allowed 100 percent freedom because the studio believed the Japanese folklore wouldn't go well over with American audiences, the English producer of the anime just flat out lied and made up the story about the anime being bad in Japan, and expressed a dislike or no-care for anime series in general
