Such a beautiful dog. Thanks for posting, everyone doesn't need to be a RUclips sensation. Sharing your passion might help the next generation. We are 100% catch and release, but feed the no limit fish to our dogs. Cheers!
Another great start for season 4 with a great vid, thanks so much...I have been a die hard Superior angler here on Goulais and Batchewana Bays my entire life up to a couple of years ago due to mobility issues, and I enjoy your channel more than you could ever imagine...thank you, Rob
I watch your videos to learn. I appreciate you not being a high and mighty attitude individual. Your my favorite fishing RUclips channel. Clayton shick is a close 2nd ! Thank you for the great videos.
Way to serve others Grant, especially those are who unable to enjoy the resources they way you and others do out on the water, some fish can be harvested and shared with the needy or the elderly.
Accudepth 47's. We prefer them because they can easily hold 300 yards of 20 pound braid backing, 5 colors of leadcore, and leaders etc. Plenty of room for any setup year round.
Graph is a HDS 12 i believe. Honestly id have to go check LOL. Not sure on the Duecer. Need to get it swapped out tho because i dont think my side imaging is working. As you can probably tell, we don't rely on our graph too much. haha.
Hi Grant; great video. I'm an inventor of sorts, and have a downrigger submersible planer that i would like to have you test if that is possible? and a nother invention for dipsy's
Hello! I love your videos! I learn so much. I just started fishing Lake superior last year. I got a boat slip and stayed at port wing marina.its a wonderful place. We caught a walleye a salmon and a lake trout or two. We went over by the mouth of the brule. I am hoping to come up next month and fish the full moon. What has been your experience fishing a full moon?
I follow all your videos. Excellent one again. I just gotta say I hope fishing is still open when I wanna go. This is what going to close it down. Atleast follow the CDC recommendation and wear a mask and stay apart just for the camera shots. Lead by example regardless of your opinions on the pandemic. I love fishing. I need fishing. If the DNR see too many people not following guidelines at boat landings, bait stores, public fishing spots etc we risk them shutting down all public landings or closing the season.
So I just moved up to this area and lake Superior is within an hour and I want to start spending some serious time on there however I do own a relatively small vessel. would you guys know of a website that would accommodate safe conditions for small vessels right off of the liftgate
Hey man, thanks for the comment. What size boat do you have? General rule of thumb for fishing right here in Duluth: West wind 6mph and under your fine. N wind 7 mph and under your fine. East wind 2mph and under your fine. South wind under 5 mph your fine. Again depends on size of boat etc. BUT this time of year you dont have to go out far at all to catch fish. So you can be out there in a relatively smaller boat, using safety of course. ONE thing to watch out for and this only happens now through June 1st. West winds that arent in the forecast will pick up fast. You barely have time to react and she will be blowing 20-30mph for a hour or two. Doesnt happen very often, and mainly on sunny days, but just something to keep in mind. If you experience this, just cut the line and head for the shore. Dont let that prevent you from going out, just be aware that in the spring, there are some winds that arent in the forecast/cant be predicted.
I have a 16.5 Alumacraft and have thought about inshore Lake Superior fishing, I know I would want to have a good marine band radio onboard before venturing out.
@@SuperiorAngling thank you for the information. I have a 169 alumacraft deep v and wide. By the way I really enjoy your content your videos make this seem more reachable to a lot of people keep up the good work man
I grew up trolling superior and have always used the big offshore boards, I see nowadays a lot of people using the online boards, is there advantages/disadvantages to using the in lines over the big ones? Just looking for opinions thank you .
Both work great. We prefer the inlines because we feel you get a more consistent bait action especially in waves, no slack in the line when a fish hits, and more control overall. Same purpose and function, just 2 different ways to do it.
Superior Angling: thank you for your insight ! I can totally see where the “no slack” would be better, Usually loose some on the release on the big boards for sure! I may just give them a try!
Now guys....,! 🤫 DONT QUOTE ME..... BUUUUUUT...,! I have been hearing on a consistent basis that the splike are running really heavy right now over there at horseshoe trench ! Aaaww man all I can say is that it sounds like we are all in for a REAL TREAT THIS SPRING! Gear up folks and go get em'!!🤫🤫 I mean I cant even stay sitting down! I mean I'm so excited right now I may just have to give in to temptation and in CELEBRATION... ,! crack myself a delicious, thirst quenching coca cola in a bottle...! This is truly a treat guys! Great stuff!!
I'd love to know the general area where you guys were fishing! Love the spring in Chaquamegon Bay, and hope do to it again.
G'day to everyone. Hope all are well. 👋👋
Amazing.
Talking with your hands while reeling in fish. Special skill
I had Fish Sticks for lunch today 🐟🐟🐟

Is that fur baby a great pyrenees? Stay safe and healthy!
Newfoundland!
Great Video Grant! Early Season, what size downrigger balls are you using or do you use same all season?
We use 12's all year round. 12's stay more vertical than 10's or 8's so you have a better idea on how deep you are.
What kind of daiwa linecounters are those ? Accudepth ? If so do you know what size ? Thanks

I live in the up, just bought a little boat and now I can’t even use it, I’ll drive to Duluth if you take me out on the lake😂
Saw that ruling. Brutal!! Better days to come!

Just for reference Michigans shelter in place order does not allow them to use motorboats and go to their vacation homes.
We're all gonna die 😭, and in retrospect , you liberal losers were all full of it!!!!
