I almost agree with this title. Almost. This car is absolutely orgasmic to listen to, but the best flat plane crank v8 sound is undoubtedly the 3.5 Cinquevalvole in the Ferrari f355. The valvetrain on that engine sings a song unlike any other. But this is definitely a close second, it has a violence that the Ferrari doesn't have.
I'm owning a Maserati GranTurismo with exactly the same engine from Ferrari (F136Y) and same exhaust. It sounds the same. And even the production plant is the same. The Alfa 8C Competizione was built in Modena, on Maseratis production line, where all GranTurismos where built. And even the most parts of the 8Cs chassis, suspension and drive train are the same. I's all Maserati with a Ferrari engine.

Not even close IMHO. I think the Murcielago LP 640/LP 670-4 SV is the best sounding street car...almost any V12 with the right exhaust sounds better than the 8C :)
