This is the second home in which ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
Never put what system you have outside of your house! If you want someone to know you have a security system then put a different company and stickers. You are just advertising how to break your system. Example. If you have that Simplisafe outside. I know you just need a portable ham radio that blasts a channel and it will mask all the sensors. Vice vera there ways around all systems. Pro tip if you want to advertise you have a system buy another companys yard trash and put that there.
I really like that if you want to add more devices to the system, the monitoring fee doesn’t go up. I like that all devices are yours, to take with you if you move. I am a huge techie, but the indoor camera is more than enough for me.
We have had SimpliSafe for about 4 years, and I’ve been very pleased. I haven’t seen many (if any) positive reviews of the camera, so I’ve started buying Wyze cams for indoor. Like you, I wish SS would work with IFTTT so I could have all my Wyze cams activate when I arm SS in away mode. But you make a good point that the demo SS is marketing to probably doesn’t care about (or has heard of) IFTTT. Here’s hoping.
We've had SimpliSafe for a couple years, and overall it's a great system! I wish there were more tech options like you said, but it definitely gets the job done.
if you use wireless alarm sensors the frequency they transmit on is known, and you can buy a jammer on amazon for less than $20 that will prevent it from sending a signal to the base station that somebody has entered
Does it matter if the smaller or bigger piece of the entry sensor is on the door? Also, is away mode effected if I don’t get a motion detector due to pets.
Be aware that metal building are a problem for the external cameras. You will have to devise some kind of bridge to get you through the metal building wall. The truly bizarre part of it is that SimpliSafe STILL (3 years later) does NOT have a solution.
Thank you for sharing this very helpful review. One thing that wasn’t clear was how the app communicates with the master module. For instance, once the system is set up, does the app auto-detect that there is a system nearby and link to it? Likewise, does the app inherit all of the settings from the master module? - Thanks again!
We have simplisafe and all there sensors and cameras and video doorbell and even have the smart lock and love every bit of it. I can use my Alexa to arm it but what i love the most is it has video verification and thats awesome so if someone breaks in the cameras open and video doorbell starts to record and gives them the video to the cops so the police will respond faster. I will never go with any other alarm company. We are #simplisafe4life #simplisafe4thewin

Go with at&t, just say you cannot afford the price their offing and then they'll keep lowering it every time you say that! LOL seriously! I think our bill eventually got to $20 a month.
I mean simplisafe is not as safe as it could be. you can hijack it with a 5 dollar thingy off of Amazon but only buying a camera is also not quite right so honestly I have no idea.
@@SN-bl6xm Not sure, you need to scavenge for some good security systems, since these amazon things aren't so developed I think you will be good to go with a standard lock and a hidden camera. If you want it to be semi futuristic find a keycard thing.

We purchased a simplisafe video doorbell and security system. We did not realize there was a glitch in the system and we received two complete systems (and were charged for two). When we tried to set the system up we had so many issues getting the cameras (including the doorbell camera) to read the QR code we didn't even realize the second box was a duplicate until we were outside of the return window. As a result, they will not allow us to return the duplicate -- they suggested we sell it on eBay to recoup part of our investment. So disappointed in the customer service.
you didn't tell us enough does it record live and what I mean by that it doesn't save it and if it does say that for how long you're not giving us any information we're not the ones that have this device we've never used it you should have just told us
before getting it make sure you check the price on ratedGadgets it can be a lot cheaper

I'm old and not tech savvy, the simpler the better, and $25 a month is alot cheaper then ADT, ordering my unit today, thanks for the info

The cameras are now 1080p thankfully. Arrived at my house yesterday
Excellent work and review. Thanks!
Thank you! Your video was very easy to follow and assist with the set up.
How does the alarm sound? Would have been nice to see it in action.
@Madhukar Tawde Thanks! But it's not very jarring. Maybe that's not the loudest setting. Hope so.
My house is not wide, but is very deep. I purchased a second siren for the back of the house. You simply plug it in.
So do you have to get a monthly subscription & if you don't can you still use the app & get alerts to your phone?
No you won't get alerts.
Does it matter if the smaller or bigger piece of the entry sensor is on the door? Also, is away mode effected if I don’t get a motion detector due to pets.
Thanks for the good review. So, is the indoor camera of any benefit without the use of an app?
Another RUclips review said the break door sensor took 2-3minutes to connect to the alarm with broken glass. Have you heard about this?

To each his own. Something for everyone, that's why it's more than one company out here.

Is Simplisafe a good system for a historic home (house 122 years old) and over 2700 square feet with full basement?
Can there cameras be mounted outside ? Anyone know if they will hold up out there ?
Yes and yes
Is this better thanbring system?
Wonderful QUIET !
Could someone inside the house remove an entry sensor without tripping the alarm?
If the alarm is armed no the alarm will go off once it’s detached
Kinda sounds like you’re trying to keep someone inside your house. Hope they’re okay.
You mean I can't monitor the alarms myself with the app?
Do you have to have Internet to have it to work?
No it connects to cellular also

Why do I need this? That white dude in the commercials seems very unthreatening. And I got a Rottweiler, I’m good. Thanks.

crap ,siganl can easily be jammed, plus someone would find it and just smash it up
Also, this version (v. 3) has encrypted signals. The jamming is only a valid complaint for the older SS1 and SS2 systems.
