QUESTION for Ira , What damage would be caused if say , an Artic Cat Technician.
Who did the 1st service on the 2023 alterra 600. Over filled the OIL by what I'm guessing to be at least One full quart of oil? ON an Alterra, that was broken in by the book. No full throttle, ridin pretty tame for 1st 1oo Miles or 10 hrs.
& Let's say , that customer, took the word of the Service advisor. & Just rode it normal the 1st season after that service. Like the service advisor said didn't need to be back until after the next season. But the owner Noticed Early in the 1st Riding season of ownership. Oil leaks & found oil over filled. But After 350 more miles. Now looking at 450+ miles ! Of which 350 of them on the engine being over filled with oil. How much damage was caused internally? Plus How many Years of Riding was lost to other parts from the engine having to strain & not be properly lubricated, like having to hold down electric start longer then normal to get it to start. Or Transmission strain from shifting to early or to late due to RPMs being off due to labored engine strain . & while we are at it let's talk 1st service. Ira, since your one of the Engineers who helped design this engine. I'm guessing probably the Transmission. & know the ins & outs on this machine. What should a 1st service consist of? And if it's just an oil change why would just an oil change cost $500?

You should do deep dive into the display and controls on the machine especially talking about the DPS and engine breaking settings on machine.

Does Artic Cat, read the comments. I mean if they are gonna put out videos they should awnser questions in the comments . Otherwise why share any information at all if people can't pick the brains of the people who designed the darn thing

I don't understand what you're trying to ask! If what you're asking is ,is this an electric motor or gas, then it's obviously gas as a gas (or internal combustion engine) is called an ENGINE and an electric powerplant is called a MOTOR! Is that what you meant?
