Don’t mean to interrupt or be rude, but I don’t think that’s correct. The other mother controls the other world she doesn’t control the tunnel between the worlds she could she would’ve made two keys. She said there’s only one key she can’t control the tunnel.

The Beldam hasn’t eaten anything for about 50 years, so for her to be able to create an illusion identical to earth is just not possible. 2.The main plot of the movie has the beldam trying to sew buttons in coralline’s eyes, and at the end of the movie she fails to do that. So the ghost children getting their normal eyes at the end of the movie actually confirms she escaped, if u disagree then you would basically ruin 80% of the movies plot. 3. You are denying the fact that the first 2 times she enters the other world could have been dreams. I mean if you believe the Beldam has the power to create another whole world illusion for coralline, I am pretty sure she can also send dreams to coralline to make her desire to enter stronger. And the director also confirmed she escaped in the book, and also said that he made the movie because “to teach that you can overcome your fears” or something like that. So yea she does escape.
This theory does have some pretty good points, but because the movie is going off the book (which I’ve read), in the book Coraline was able to escape the other world. and someone else pointed out in the comments, the tunnel was no longer colorful because Coraline was able to see through the illusion the beldam created. And finally for my last statement at the end of the book, when Coraline returns to the real world after freeing the ghost children, she has a dream where they talk to her, which is in the movie, but that’s the problem, in the movie the ghost children and Coraline have a very different talk than in the book, in the book, they have a picnic where they all sit down and eat when they’re done there’s a bridge with big fields across the bridge. They say thats the other side meaning the afterlife which they crossover to, but right before they do that they said you said us free and you made it home meaning just as they said Coraline returned , and then the dream ends they moved onto the afterlife meaning that the ghost children in the movie weren’t something the Beldam created. They passed on Coraline escape.

So basically there was this one mum in California who am her daughter died at the age of eight, so the mum she went to this place called death of a loved one and she said to this person I want to have my daughter with me forever and I do not want her to die ever again, so I would like you to let me have two patterns for both of her eyes to sew them on her skin. The man reluctantly agreed because she looked very scary , and a few weeks after the mum sewed on the eyes, I meant the buttons and this is what she turned on
