  • Wrestlers Speak about the Von Erich Family
    Wrestling Legends and WWE Hall of Famers speak about the "WWE Hall of Fame" Von Erich Family who have a tragic story of 5 or the 6 boys of father Fritz passed away before him. 3 of the sons omitted suicide while another drowned after suffering an electric shock and another died from an issue with his intestines.

    Kevin is an inspiration. No matter what people may say about how he was or what happened with his family, it takes a ton of heart and will to keep moving forward after what he went through. 5 brothers dead. 3 who committed suicide. A father that pretty much told him to do the same.
    Instead, he perservered, stated with his wife from day 1 and proceeded to be a great father and grandfather. That's one hell of a man.

      Wow...😔
      Hurt people hurt people..
      When my father was 15 he went to play basketball with his friend and his little brother Joey was 8 and wanted to tag along but like kids do, my dad told him no because he just wanted to hangout with his buddies so his little brother stayed behind.
      While dad was gone, Joey was playing and swinging on a motor hoist and it tipped over on him and killed him.
      Almost like Johnny Cash and his brother, in the following days my grandfather blamed my dad for his brother's death.
      "Why wasn't he with you!?
      You should've been looking out for your little brother!"
      My mom told me about that part. My dad just told me his little brother died from an accident when he was 8😔

      Yes, Fritz was the downfall of all the boys. It is such a sad & tragic story. The fact that Kevin made it is a miracle to be honest. If Fritz had not been so dead set on hogging the spotlight for him and his sons & actually shared some of it with the other wrestlers that teamed up with the Von Erichs there is no telling where Texas wrestling would have gone. There is also no telling how high (no pun intended) his sons would have succeeded. Fritz was just too bull headed and power hungry. You could say he used his sons as much as he used the other wrestlers.

    See I agree with Tony is that Vince allows certain people to rise above he's not as controlling as he was like recently and that's why I would make a comment about that he's older and he knows what he's. But it's certainly not the same anymore it's completely different ballgame and I'm glad

      That's just one more dark layer to that story that most people don't ever really fully go into. Fritz didn't lose most of his money with World Class. It starts like this: Fritz made millions off of his sons, overlooked all of their bad behavior and addictions and allegedly fired anyone who tried to bring it up to him the fact that they were spiraling out of control because every card needed to advertise a Von Erich. Advertise being the key word, actually having them show up was another thing altogether when things started to get bad.
      It ends like this: When World Class started going downhill, Frtiz started backing out and sold I believe at least half of the business to Kevin and Kerry. He later sold his remainder to Jerry Jarrett and basically left his dysfunctional sons holding the bag. There was a lawsuit over it that Kevin filed against the Jarrett's. Just one final sad episode of "Fritz Von Erich, father of the year". Or maybe that was when Fritz told Kevin he should kill himself.

      @deanncoates8456 4 года назад +14

      Correct on Mike not wanting to wrestle. He wanted to help the family business behind the scenes be it booking, cameras, producing, etc. Fritz would have non of that. And poor Chris, he wanted nothing more than to wrestle but had Brittle Bone Syndrome. I believe Fritz was the downfall of all of his sons. Kevin has the heart of a warrior.
