    This is an excellent podcast and brought back old memories. In my consulting days in early 2000, I was working for a F100 medical device mfg on a Sales Force Automation project (now called CRM) and was asked to find a company that specialized in Competitive Intelligence to help my client find out why they were loosing so much business to a particular competitor. I already knew of a group of Navy Reserve Intelligence Officers in DC who had such a company and brought them in. All they really did was call senior staff at the other company, tell them they were doing a case study for another medical device company and wanted to know what made them tick. Those people sang like birds! They were so proud of what they did, they were happy to share the information with anyone who asked. A bit scary isn’t it?

      Ego is a hell of a drug and some folks cant resist that drip.
      Had a journalism professor tell me once, and this guy had been in numerous pro sports locker-room's, political and big business settings and told me and the rest of the class NUMEROUS times, "people LOVE to talk, they love it, all you have to do is push that snowball down the hill and get your tablet/voice recorder device ready" and damn if he wasnt right.
      Even folks who are not ego-maniacal like to talk about themselves, its a human thing, and then you get the folks who couldnt shut up if they tried and for a journo, its wonderful, so much material.

    The DIA is one of the various DoD directed subordinate intelligence agencies that specifically supports the War Fighter. The DIA has two main internal offices/branches - DI and DO - Directorate for Intelligence Analysis and Directorate for Operations. DCS, DDS, JMAS, and several other offices fall under the DO's purview.

    • @spartanlukas
      @spartanlukas Год назад

      @The Gedunk and again, you're off topic... I never mentioned anything about "operational control," you did. Try to focus...again, this is my point...The top IC body that has oversight of all IC activities is the ODNI. After 9/11 the CIA, FBI and other IC agencies were not communicating with each other enough and refused to share critical information and therefore, the CIA was placed under and directed to report to the ODNI for the purposes of greater coordination across the IC enterprise. The CIA also falls under the direct control of the POTUS. The ODNI has oversight over ALL IC entities, and yes, the director of the CIA does report to a higher authority (ODNI/POTUS) - it is not an IC agency without oversight or operational parameters/jurisdictional limitations as you are trying to insinuate. Stop watching Jason Borne movies and Jack Ryan episodes and getting your information from Wikipedia and believing it. You're not cleared. You do not work in the IC as of today, nor did you ever, for that matter. Have a great day ass clown 🤡.

    We rolled with females in our unit everyday in OIF07/09 on Route Security/Convoy Security Roles. We wouldn't let our Females out of our sight because they couldn't even feel safe with our own and MST was quickly becoming a big deal.
    They would literally prefer to RON in our tents vs having their own because they knew we had their 6, we would escort them to DFAC or shower trailers just to make sure they felt safe.

    Crazy history and career by her, American hero for sure. It just amazes me that they couldn’t just go find a single person from that sources area to translate better. How are you taking intel from someone over a long period of time and you can’t even understand him completely all while he is telling you where the most wanted person in the world is at? That doesn’t add up to me but who knows and especially if only 3 weeks later, they captured Geronimo, it’s probably because CIA already had the intel.
