This wallet not using bip 39 is a big plus, not a negative, as seed phrases are too risky. It uses private keys that the user doesn't even know or see. Also, the card is brute force protected against wrench attacks and the fact that they will not share their secret recipe on how the inner workings of the card works doesn't mean that it is poison. I use this card and will never go back to seed phrases or hardware devices ever again. It is so easy to use. It's the future of self-storage...

The main problem with this is they only open source the app, not the actual chip in the card. So we don't know where that info is going or how anything in it works except for what they tell us, which could be a lie

you are VERY confused about what makes a wallet secure and what the ADULT responsibility of crypto self-custody means - and how important it is to be mature enough to be able to handle such a responsibility.
you also might want to study up on why Satoshi Nakamoto [individual or team] created Bitcoin in the first place and what s/he/they meant re: true adult independence & sovereignty. because your comment shows you've missed a LOT about all of it.
and you also show you don't at all understand why the Tangem wallet is actually LESS secure than one with a seed phrase. it's more simple ' but in this case "simple" means LESS SECURE.
and being MORE SECURE is not for those who want or *need* to have what they think is a crypto experience be some ridiculous hybridization of classical, trad-fi banking & use of digital assets on a blockchain.
you might as well be first in line to sign up for your government's CBDC plan. because you're not really focused on or interested in a genuine use of honest cryptocurrency practices..from any human or tech side of the equation, including your own, as your comment proves.
this *relatively* new way of dealing with currency is not for the confused, the faint of heart or those who are lazy.
but if you didn't understand Archer's explanation as to why that is, if you listened to everything he said, and actually believe what you wrote [& it seems like you do!] you will *not* easily comprehend the tenets of proper crypto security measures...
unless you make a real effort and study up in order to at least give yourself a fair chance at a genuinely deep understanding of what Satoshi was offering humanity. and why. because as of right now, clearly you do not understand it.
and probably a waste of time to ask but curious because what is it you don't understand about:
'not your keys, not your crypto??'
also, you're VERY confused about what a "brute force" attack means re: wallets/crypto and what a "wrench attack" is. they are NOT one and the same. which yes, wrench attacks ARE brutal by the nature of what they are.. but that is NOT the same thing as a brute force attack re: cryptocurrency.🙄
and really, it's just so odd that you actually believe the Tangem wallet is safer than wallets that employ seed phrases. and why are you willing to trust strangers who OBSFUSCATE data re: their wallet chip and audits? why do you think that's safe in any way, shape or form?
because you're not being careful and everything you commented proves you are PRIMED to be robbed of your crypto one way or another [if you have any].
so, you can wait for it to happen [again, if you have any]...or you could really make an effort to understand the *rationale* supporting proper cryptocurrency, self-custody security measures.
which if you chose to use the Tangem wallet you would not be truly taking responsibility for whatever crypto is allocated to your ownership - on whatever blockchains are relevant to your holdings.
      & just smdh.😐

    • @DiandraStarShine
      @DiandraStarShine Год назад +1

@@afrobian1 if you read this thread you'll know at least *some* of why the OP is 💯 % confused & wrong AND why you didn't make any improvement at all by moving your allocated blockchain assets to a Tangem wallet. you're actually in the same boat you were before and you don't even know why.
and it's just astounding that so many of you have *no clue* about or understanding of what Archer said..Archer who's far more knowledgeable about the topic & security than the average crypto holder and definitely than the average subscriber to Cryptotips!
it's just truly astounding that so many of you dismissed what he said! and scrolled down to find posts that support your confirmation bias instead.
which shows your coins/tokens would be more secure if you do something you, clearly, never have and that is:
to put in the time, energy & enough focus to *study* proper cryptocurrency security & its rationale.
because if you don't? one day you will trust the wrong person, another questionable wallet or crypto platform..the wrong app..or email..and you will lose..most of your bags, if not all of them.

well, that's just it, the Tangem chip is proprietary and the "audit" they claimed happened, even if it did, they refused to give Archer proof that the current wallet chip is the same as the one supposedly audited. that is a *huge* red flag among all the other red flag.
that said, any additional Tangem wallet card is what you, if a customer, would use for YOU to back up your first one with.
because, as Archer learned & told us, it's not designed with the BIP39 protocol or any other seed phrase protocol.
so it's not compatible with anything other than another Tangem wallet card and that's the exact kind of bs I *abhor* in a company, including a crypto wallet company. proprietary designs/specs that are 💯% inappropriate for an item.
reminded me of when Apple first tried to make sure all of its music & video files were formatted in a way that made certain they were incompatible with the Sony Walkman or non-Apple software media players like Windows Media or even open source ones..thank the gods altruist developers constantly created media file converters so we could play any song or watch any video on whatever player we preferred.
so Tangem, they're trying to hold customers hostage to their product only, making sure you buy at least 2!
Ledger wallet flashbacks happened for me right away/from the early part of the review!
everything he said made me more convinced Tangem's product and founders/owners cannot be trusted..which I ranted on about in my OP comment for this video.😐🧚🏾‍♀️

@bobdobolina4870 without proof I would say that's bs. If the private key was changed at every tap then the new key would have to be communicated to the backup cards and the transmission could be intercepted. I don't think these cards have that capability.

The question about how to verify was loaded onto the card itself was never answered. That is a large amount of trust that you are putting into the card/tangem.

Ha ha. So why doing these videos again? Anyway so you know I have a Tangem wallet (so I must have done some research) and have found it great so far. So why were you against against these cards again? Maybe with some evidence to prove my research was wrong.

Don’t recommend it all. If you lose all your cards and the company shuts down you are screwed. Stick with your trezors.

    • @CryptoTips
      @CryptoTips Год назад +3

If the company were to shut down, you could get the mobile device source code from the github and compile/install it yourself to allow you to still get to your crypto, but as I said, its definitely a downside!
