I personally believe that Doomslayer is unbalanced as it's unparalleled in its ability to pick off threatening targets. Super Shotgun and its Meathook allows you to target and quickly close in on ranged opponents, and Chainsaw's ability to one-tap a tough target in melee range makes it incredibly useful not only as a way to regain ammo, but as a deterrent against anyone hoping to close in for melee attacks. When Doomslayer had just dropped in the new update, I had a match where I was the Doomslayer, I believe it was on Towny, but I didn't know it had a double jump, didn't know item pickups existed, and also didn't know how to use glory kills (turns out they were broken at the time). It was my very first time as Doomslayer, but using the base kit of super shotgun and chainsaw with its ammo regen, I was able to barely clutch out a win with the last few points on my healthbar. If someone with very little experience with the juggernaut can pull off a win with just good aim and a dream, anything on top is extra strength added to an already powerful juggernaut. Hale has very few abilities but can still wipe the floor with an unfortunate lobby with just M1s and a good map. Filibuster is on the opposite side of the spectrum, with attacks that don't do much damage per hit, needing careful and skill-based usage of their several abilities to outplay opponents. Doomslayer is the best of both: having many abilities and the sheer power of only needing one or two hits to kill an opponent (and heal from it) makes him above the average juggernaut in strength.
At the very least they should remove doom's double jump. He already has higher than average movespeed as well as meathook, so its not a mobility problem. Its just a matter of having a harder time hitting him with projectiles. For those saying that its "accurate to the source material", hale also doesn't have a double jump.
He's definitely super broken but he isn't as braindead as Hale due to his very low HP and requiring resource management to not be a sitting duck, making him extremely vulnerable to curse stack. While he definitely needs a rebalance, you have to keep in mind that Doomguy's main appeal in the original games is him having extremely powerful weaponry that can kill demons in the blink of an eye. Doing something like simply nerfing the Super Shotgun to only 2 or 3 shot people in point blank range would go against the weapon's main identity of being this super powerful boomstick that can wipe any enemy with one clean shot. If I were to balance this JGN, I would either nerf the Berserk powerup's damage from 100+ to 55 damage like Hale's Strength M1s, vault the powerup itself entirely or remove the speedboost you gain from using it. A red aura will also emanate from Doomguy if he is currently using the Berserk powerup. As for the Super Shotgun, I would replace it with the Combat Shotgun and the Plasma Rifle instead, since the Combat Shotgun is less powerful than than the Super Shotgun and therefore much more fair to fight against in JGN. The plasma rifle is there to compensate for the lack of meathooks so that Doomguy isn't completey cooked in hitscan heavy matches. I will leave the Crucible and the Chainsaw as is because they're already balanced with their limited uses.

i think doom needs a nerf to 2 aspects, hook and the berz pack (skull), hook is just too versatile to be spammable like that, it can do everything mobility-wise, and berz pack is just a crutch for bad players to pop when they're getting rolled so they instakill half the server, i dont think that can really be balanced around because if they nerf it too much people will just ignore the skull because it locks you to melee, i think it would have to be removed, imo the base kit of slayer is fine, bad players with no target priority get pulverized due to the low hp pool and good ones go on a rampage, as it should be
Honestly, Doom is sorta considered a glass cannon (HP and abilities) it’s another similar Hale type situation: It’s stupidly easy to win as the juggernaut once you know the main moves, but this time you have to play a bit more smart with your charges on items. Despite all his weapons being well 1-shot (that makes up his low HP) you can just mop the floor with everyone with this Overall he’s a pretty meh juggernaut

What part of hale makes him look even slightly comparable to doom guy? Especially when meat hook can zoom you from across the map, even on cross roads.

Random fact about me: once my frames and internet is stabilized, you can only run... unless I fight the server where you got squished to death (like, full attack + ice cream treat, like, bruh that server wasn't just asylumers, these where perfect runners for sure).

A balance change is in need, but doom slayer is a glass cannon. It’s a race against the server to melt the other first, and doom slayer almost always wins because he’s too agile. Nerfing doom slayer is a hard task because you’d easily gut him with most nerfs, which is why he is in this state. Maybe a slight nerf to the shotgun damage and turning the meathook into something that acts like spear would work??
he's not balanced, nor skill based i have never gone below half health with slayer, asides from 2 times i got sent to jupiter from items like spider stilts and kentucky...but that doesnt matter, his low health pool doesnt matter if you have around a bajillion speed, one tap virtually everything and well, if you take too long or start doing too bad, pop the skull powerup for 15+ guaranteed onetaps with 32ws... slayer is only as bad as you make him, and its harder to make him bad than it is to play him good, insane damage, insane health regen, great mobility, s every time you kill someone essentially i do not know what the devs were thinking when they allowed this thing past testing, if it even GOT tested
I believe that to be more fair, his base HP should be 150 or 130 instead of 200. Doom has abilities that make him intangible, which in glory kill and with the chainsaw, this is good for saving time for reloading the shotgun skill and ammo, or auto reloading the chainsaw's gas. Damage, speed, jump, attack speed, skills, buffs and loot spread across the map, etc... Everything in this JGN is good I think an extremely low life would be the solution to make it balanced. A relentless killing machine, but only for those who know how to use it, this will force players to do frantic and bloodthirsty gameplay to win, Without giving victims a chance to react, just like Doom Slayer is.

Doom 2. Hale 3. Mihawk/Red mist (they both share the same spot, since they're very balanced) 4. Beta 5. @@IlostmyverificationAs a Vessel fan, I'd like you to think about it again. The reason Vessel's moves don't do much damage each is because you have so many of them. You can one shot people with just 3×m1's and any other skill. And don't even get me started on Focus. It's free damage for at least half the server. You can just position yourself to catch as many people into It's range and spam it, AND you won't have to worry about someone having Holy Mantle when you're constantly hitting them. The Roar is also a free kill. Get somewhat close to the one you want to kill, use it and dash at them when the animation ends. You can literally easily kill them if you do it right. I played as Vessel for the first time and EASILY won the game with more than half of my HP left. I didn't think I would win, so I was just trying to have fun with it. Oh, and I find it very fun to play. I'm a Mihawk main (haven't got him once ever since the nerf...) and I'm going to main Vessel too, just because I find it so fun. All in all, this is just me ranting, so take it with a grain of salt, because it's my opinion.
Worst jgn in the entirety of gaming. No playable jgn in any game is as dry and unbalanced as doom slayer in IA. Straight forward kit that requires only two basic skills: aim, and knowing how to use a melee weapon. That's it. There is nothing unique about this jgn, expect the glory kills. Then there's the pick ups. Who here can tell me why is there a rip n tear pick up? That's at least 5 kills in the bag, IF you suck. Crucifix is just a fancy oneshot weapon (I hoped it would've been a special AoE attack or something...) with no special animation. The shotgun is just trench shotgun on crack with tanto's grapple (it literally uses tanto's script, there's no way it doesn't.) And chainsaw is pretty much an Insta kill to anyone that doesn't have a speed boost or hp boost. Remove or rework this jgn. This is so awfully made, it's so clear to see that there was barely any effort in the scripting department. Hell, he doesn't even have a special walking and jumping animation, and that alone looks so wrong.
Main problem: Trying to hit doomslayer is akin to trying to swat a fly with double jump, copiously high speed, and arguably the best mobility in the game

The reason Vessel's moves don't do much damage each is because you have so many of them. You can one shot people with just 3×m1's and any other skill.
And don't even get me started on Focus. It's free damage for at least half the server. You can just position yourself to catch as many people into It's range and spam it, AND you won't have to worry about someone having Holy Mantle when you're constantly hitting them.
The Roar is also a free kill. Get somewhat close to the one you want to kill, use it and dash at them when the animation ends. You can literally easily kill them if you do it right.
I played as Vessel for the first time and EASILY won the game with more than half of my HP left. I didn't think I would win, so I was just trying to have fun with it.
Oh, and I find it very fun to play. I'm a Mihawk main (haven't got him once ever since the nerf...) and I'm going to main Vessel too, just because I find it so fun.
All in all, this is just me ranting, so take it with a grain of salt, because it's my opinion.
Worst jgn in the entirety of gaming. No playable jgn in any game is as dry and unbalanced as doom slayer in IA. Straight forward kit that requires only two basic skills: aim, and knowing how to use a melee weapon. That's it. There is nothing unique about this jgn, expect the glory kills. Then there's the pick ups. Who here can tell me why is there a rip n tear pick up? That's at least 5 kills in the bag, IF you suck. Crucifix is just a fancy oneshot weapon (I hoped it would've been a special AoE attack or something...) with no special animation. The shotgun is just trench shotgun on crack with tanto's grapple (it literally uses tanto's script, there's no way it doesn't.) And chainsaw is pretty much an Insta kill to anyone that doesn't have a speed boost or hp boost.
Remove or rework this jgn. This is so awfully made, it's so clear to see that there was barely any effort in the scripting department. Hell, he doesn't even have a special walking and jumping animation, and that alone looks so wrong.
Doom slayer is balanced considering it’s the lowest jgn in health and all its moves require charges
Main problem: Trying to hit doomslayer is akin to trying to swat a fly with double jump, copiously high speed, and arguably the best mobility in the game
@@thecheezepirate340 more like trying to kill a fly with a glock. Intervention, and any other hitscan weapon that would normally be labeled a "jgn killer" has less than half it's usage unless u have future sight and can predict where the jgn will move.
