omg ur all so smart! i just started a-levels and idek what uni i wanna go to. my target grades are A* (politics and psychology) and A in english (hopefully i can try turn that into an A*) but this was so helpful tyyy 💕
wheres the bit about gcse results, i wanna go to a good uni like lse but i got a 5 in maths with the rest of my results being 7s and 8s. i dont know if ill be able to and the only thing keeping me from breaking down is the fact that i go to a good sixth form where literallh everyone basically goes to russell groups. i also dont wnt to leave london so.
@@tzuyology oh calm, my avg was 8.0 across top 8 and i got a 9 in gcse maths. the only thing is i got a 5 in eng lang and lse specifically require a 6 in maths and eng lang. we both in the same boat ig, my advice for you would be to guarantee an A star in ur maths a level (provided u are doing it ofc, dont know many lse courses where u dont need it) because of ur 5 in gcse maths u gotta show that u can do maths
@theion161 I wanna do law so I ain't doing maths but do you think I'll need it? Anyway I'm not focusing necessarily on lse just any good london unis like kings ucl lse is what I'm aiming for, I'm just scared my 5 in maths will hold me back.
hiii, I love your videos and they’re really helpful for me but as an IB student planning to apply at LSE next year without my IB grades but my predicted and formal grades(I got like 36/42 without my core subjects during my previous year and I have a predicted grade of 40/45) and my IGCSE grades are good though, do you think I can get an offer at LSE? and if not what can I do to boost my chances cuz applications end in like end of January and umm I really wanna get there though so help out pls.
Depends on course. Some courses are high a levels but not excessively high and not over competitve. Obviously economics and finance BSc are both highly competitve. Economics and maths or Economics and history etc are slightly easier to get in. I knew that guy with the dreds was going to get lower grades with a contextual offer - just way he spoke. Black guy with glasses just gave out high intellect. Less competitive and contextual (race, low socio economics) courses will need ABB to AAB. Most competitive will be A*A*A to 4A*.
I disagree with the idea that how someone speaks is an indicator of their intelligence. Speech patterns are shaped by various factors like culture or confidence, and don’t reflect a person's academic potential. Many of the Black students in this video, for instance, achieved straight A’s at both A-level and GCSE. On the flip side, I’ve met students who speak very posh and use big words but achieve low grades and often don’t say much of substance. We should challenge stereotypes and recognise the value people bring beyond the way they express themselves.
@@aleeshabruce it's not always but it's a good indication to someones background. However, these people are there to improve themself, so in 10 plus years you should see a difference. The girl from Scotland clearly had a more affluent upbringing and the one who had the contextual offer, even stated he wanted to escape the environment. You are the product of the 5 people you surround yourself with. Agree that if someone speaks in an upper class accent does do not automatically imply what intelligence level they are. LSE and other top Russell group universities should be a place to better themself so I wish them all success and enhanced self improvement as future role models for future generations.
Hi, I got a 5 in English language when lce is asking for a 6 for both econ and politics and econ and philosophy. I’m predicted 2 a* and an a though. Am I still able to apply😭😭
all of our GCSE results for those asking 😊 :

Hello, I have so many questions about LSE scholarships and I'm just wondering if you could make a video on that? thank you!
Hey! It’s one of the first videos on my channel 😊

Do gces matter as someone who got majority 6's 7's. taking maths chem econ teachers think imma get 3 a* with my a* in my epq
you've got really good results, defo does not matter!
Are 8s and 9s treated differently or both as A* , I can’t find anything except like the 2019 guideline ?
they're both treated as A*s, an 8 is an A*, a 9 is an A**
Haha you’re the best! ❤️
no, you are!!!! 🤭
Where you in the videos of the other girl who did RUclips videos about LSE? I am so so sure I recognise you
