@@EvanOlsonChannel I’m not worried about that happening. He was almost their first drummer before Goldsmith but for some reason Dave chose Goldsmith. Besides, he’s an OG punk drummer so I’m sure he enjoys playing with the Foo.
We can't compare 22 years of knowing the feel of the other musicians, josh has only been in the band for months. In 1 year we will realize the level of connection he will create particularly with Nate. No animosity or disrespect to Taylor's physical absence and how delicate his situation is for the fans, but this guy is another level, more versatile and complex. I have no doubt that he does Taylor's job with a lot of respect, but he will really raise the level of musicianship in the other guys and that will ultimately be of great benefit to the band. Rest in peace Oliver Taylor Hawkins💔
I hope Dave's voice will held the whole tour. Maybe its the emotions of this song that kept him by the troat. Josh is a keeper!! Love to hear the Foos playing again.
I think some of the old songs just aren't suited to his new style or how his voice is aging. New songs tend to sound flawless and songs from this era feel more strained to me.
Going to take getting used to Josh on the kit. Feels like we went from John Bonham type like drumming with Taylor to Neal Peart drumming with Josh-nothing bad, just very different. Taylor always sounded very organic with his pocket like Bonham. Time will tell.
Man... Could not disagree more. Josh is a fantastic feel drummer that also hits the drums hard. As a matter of fact, Dave himself said that Taylor is a more technical type drummer. Just look at Josh's resume and you'll see that he has a VERY eclectic list of bands he's played with, many of which (probably even most of which) are pop bands where simple, groove oriented playing is all that's required of him. Other than maybe with A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails, he hasn't really played with anybody that would require Neal Peart level drumming... (And I'd argue that what made him so great in A Perfect Circle was his booming, non-technical, almost Bonham style drumming that gave a lot of A Perfect Circles's songs a nice simplicity and a killer groove).
Taylor was nothing like Bonzo. Josh is a chameleon and can play many styles. Bonham, Peart, and Josh all trained in jazz and were at the top of the game in rock drumming with a touch of swing and remarkable independence and ability to play linear fills and lines. . .Taylor was mostly straight forward rock, single strokes, with a lot of effort and passion, emotion.
I bet every band member takes a deep breath of frustration every time Dave starts his solo moment at the beginning of each and every song. They don't get to start playing until about 2-3 minutes into it, if they are lucky.
I like how Dave let Josh really show his amazing skill, and at the same time the sound balance was off so the boys didn’t fit in time throughout. They seem pushed to step up.
@@nickvallemusic There was a lot of interaction between all of them during the concert, the videos don't do that justice. They've been friends for decades and that definitely came through.
Strange to see these grown-up men play such banal and uninspired music. Good people though, but they have to break the mould somehow and grow out of their teenage dreams.
Give him a break, imagine trying to fit into a “family” like this. He’s more than capable and if it was not for him FF’s would not be up there playing/touring. Give it time…..apparently Dave wants him there so why not just support him ❤️
He’s been a drummer for hire for his career. I imagine he’ll tour with them this tour and next tour it might be someone else. Who knows - maybe he’ll relax into the role.
Josh freeze is a monster on drums and has a resume to prove it
I've got a spider living my bathtub that can do much better than him
@@arthurvezin You'd better get that spider on AGT or American idol or something because it must be pretty fucking good.
@@gmiller598 Maybe check the DW website and see if the spider is on it. :D
@@arthurvezin lay off the weed dude.
While he's not a drummer, I still think Jason is the better Freeze (he's the piano/saxophone player in Green Day).
Love Pat Smear’s smile the whole time he plays. Can’t wait to see them in a few weeks!
Josh Freese's timing is so great. He's right in that pocket.
These songs are easy for him compared to playing “Wish” and some of the other songs he played in NIN.
@@eddieonthegotravel That’s true. I hope he doesn’t start getting bored because Foo Fighters songs aren’t as challenging.

Josh is a beast 🔥🔥

Pat using his Nirvana guitar !!
Thanks for sharing this. Really hope we see the Foo's down here in New Zealand at the end of '23, start of '24.
It was a magical night. I've been in dreamland all day. I feel like I might accidentally end up in Boston lol
Goosebump city... damn he is a good fit! Keep rockin boys!
Great vid, thank you! Josh rocks
great new drummer
Great drum work 👌🏼
Josh is a pro and a perfect fit for the band. Some of his best drumming is on The Art of Rebellion by Suicidal Tendencies.
New drummer does great job and has incredible CV, suspect he cannot sing Queen songs tho, I fear we may not hear Dave drum again any time soon
He's all over the new album ;)
he actually can sing and plays all instruments like Dave. Not as good of a singer, but can still sing.
Good point…
@@ReneRosaDidn’t know that… is there any video I can check this out?
@@ReneRosa I was reading about him playing.numerous instruments.
Thanks for sharing ❤
Josh is just great! Give him some love. Of course he`s different than Taylor ... because he is not Taylor. Show must go on. FF4ever
so weird to see a double bass drum kit on stage with them lmao, but i dig it
Josh Freeze is a beast
✌️ ❤️ & Foo Fighters
This song is hard for him to sing now, you can hear how emotional it is for him to get through like when he sung it at the first tribute show
I hope Dave's voice will held the whole tour. Maybe its the emotions of this song that kept him by the troat. Josh is a keeper!! Love to hear the Foos playing again.

I think this one would choke Dave up emotionally more than most. This song has history behind it.
Ya, that’s what I was hearing too. Not quite enough to sour the experience…but enough to notice his emotions (hopefully ) coming through.
He's losing his voice 100%. 28 years of going full pelt and screaming like a Banshee.
No one can ever fill Taylor's shoes of course. But they couldn't have picked a better drummer then Josh.
Rock on Foo Fighters
When Dave sings 'I'm a new day rising' he's referring to another great band.
thank you ♥
Porraaaa FF voltou amooooo maravilhoso Josh na batera😀😀😀
Muy muy bien Josh 😮
Same feeling. I keep comparing it to the wembley fills. And no where close lol

Freese > TH and it’s not close. What a monster drummer!
Technically yes... feel tho...
Don't get me wrong, I love both

You're talking out of that little brown hole that your uncle used to touch at family BBQs. Nonsense.
Dave's losing his voice.

He's great drummer but there's kinda no feeling in it..
he's a session drummer, the guy is a machine... completely different feel than what Taylor had..
Do you mean he isn't smiling?
