@@B2F1 you're referring when the nut is fully tighten to a desired torque spec correct? However, my question is when the nut is being screwed to the stud at the begining without cross threading.
@@squidusn71 it’s probably in the design of the threads. They way the treads start probably allow it to start from almost any angle without stripping. This is purely a guess but I’m sure it’s along those lines.

What prevents the threads from stripping?
It's probably some sort of power torque wrench that stops when it reaches a certain level of tension.
