    Miss south africa is more of a women empowerment platform , like they take that seriously they don't care how the girls look like and walk ,that's what sets them apart , they are looking for an inspirational ambassador, and i love that, so i honestly dont care if they win at international pageants they re honestly deserving

    Miss SA is an outstanding pageant production. It's also key to showcase local designers and music and it also acts as a runway show even though the focus is not on the technicalities

    I hope she will excel at Miss Universe.But with her unpretentiousness,her kindness and her natural way to connect with people she would also be a perfect Miss Supranational.Luis,she has to be careful walking down the stairs because her deafness affects her balance.

    The person who designed this stage should never be hired by any pegeant ever again. So many stairs. The girls couldn't showcase their walks. They were too worried about falling.

    • @michaelkisselar5691
      @michaelkisselar5691 2 месяца назад +7

      Again! It's Miss South Africa. It's not about how you walk, turn or how you show your body! It's how you can be transformational leader! The stairs gave us the wow factor, well we had two gentlemen helping them for safety. What was important there was the Showcasing of the designer who sponsored to showcase their gowns! So, the stage was marvellous I swear. Mia she will show you her walk on Universe stage don't worry. But until then she is Miss South Africa to serve for South Africans.

  • @Hashtag25_
    @Hashtag25_ 2 месяца назад +11

    I have a theory about why there isn’t much stage performance you get at Miss SA. Very differently from other pageants, it is free to enter. This opens it up to everyone in the country regardless of pageant experience. The candidates are shortlisted based on how they do on interviews.
    They certainly need to do more on stage training on their top 30. But unlike other pageants, it’s very accessible to almost everyone. Regardless of whether u can walk or not because everything is all expenses paid.

  • @AnalediAfrika
    @AnalediAfrika 2 месяца назад +7

    Great review, Luis! The full show was incredible, and all the ladies were shining throughout. If people only saw these YT bits, they miss out on a lot of context, because so much was shown of their causes and growth throughout Crown Chasers. Miss SA is not only about the crowning night, it's a long build-up of being challenged and pushed and moulded into a deserving representative. Mia had a tough time on CC, but persevered. It's her strong character, struggles throughout life, natural poise and solid cause that got her the crown. Her work to be done is primarily here in South Africa, she said in interviews afterwards that she has many plans and little community projects already underway. That's what counts, not walking on a glitzy stage a few times or wearing swimwear. Going to the international stages is a bonus, which she will be trained for.
    I actually hope that Mpumi goes to Supra next year, she will be a stunning competitor!
    Ontshi unfortunately never made top 3 during the CC episodes, but she was my final no 3, after Mpumi and Mia. I had Onalenna up there throughout CC, but she struggled towards the end with consistency.
    I hope Ontshi comes back in two years, or even enter Miss SA World.

    I cannot, for the life of me, identify why our pageant does not really focus on the technical performance levels. If you look at the pageants for demi and zozi - runway skills were important. Queen lali lalela was also a force on the runway! If you look in the comments under posts about the contestants at prelim swimsuit walks - you would see folks asking why the contestants cannot really do pageant walks these days. I wish they would encourage the contestants to do some pre-pageant runway prep because then on the national stage it would be a flaming moment.

      @@User.777.1 .... Maybe if they train her well and enough for runway performances (SS and EG), then she will be okay at miss universe. However, I feel like judges were a bit biased towards inclusivity as well. Honestly, Nompumelelo and Ontshiametse were on their A+ games. I think Mia is very deserving of the crown.
    It’s Ironic that the same people complaining that a white woman won Miss South Africa, and implying Racism, are actually the ones that are RACIST.
    England, France, Germany, Iceland, Netherlands, Belgium, USA, etc… all have had black representatives at Miss Universe, and I’m sure it was very acceptable by these same individuals.
