I really enjoyed watching your process. I love how you balance out the decoration with enough room to write. I can sometimes get paralysed by doubt when I go to start a new page but when I watch you I feel more confident that it's ok to let it flow how it wants to. Your pages always look wonderful and I'm glad you have such lovely people around you who love and support you. ❤️
Wendy Allen Thank you so much for your kind words Wendy. I really appreciate your support ☺️ Oh yes, I completely believe in going with the flow in your journal. Even the pages I’m less happy with still tell an important story about how I was feeling at the time. I hope you have lots of fun in your journal 🤗💕
Helen, thank you so much for this spread. I loved the colour palette, the different techniques you used, and the message because self-doubt is something so many of us deal with. It came out beautiful.
I actually started journaling this year. I had a notebook from a couple years ago I never used. And I've just been using that along with papers torn out from journals that I never finished over the years. I started going through my things and found lined and graphed loose leaf paper from when I was in school. Some of it has a little bit of an aged look. I use my son's markers, color pencils, glue sticks, scissors, and pens we have in our place. I did buy some washi tape but so far that's all.
I always love seeing your work and I noticed how nice your start bay notebook looks...like it’s gaining patina and texture. I love the one I bought and glad to have learned about them from your channel.
Gail’s Bookish Things Thank you so much ☺️ The cover has developed a beautiful patina over time. I’ve had it quite a while now and it’s lovely to see it ageing 💕
You have such a soothing way of explaining things that helps with my anxiety and makes the process seem so much easier than I make it out to be. Thank you for that.
I am getting ready to shop my own stash as well. I have so much stuff that I really need to sort. I love your videos, Helen! They make my day! Looking forward to seeing your journaling space and stash! Beautiful as always!✨✨✨
Really lovely spread Helen 😊 It was interesting what you were saying about how your creative process gives you time to think about what you're going to write about & that you actually got a change of perspective on writing about self doubt to that of gratitude for all the support & encouragement you've received from people believing in you. It was really lovely 💕 Usually I just write, I don't decorate my journal, I use my writing to explore my thoughts, but after admiring how you go about journaling I often wondered if I should try decorating my journal & see if it works for me.
Narelle Susac Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comments Narelle ☺️ The creativity has definitely been a really useful part of the journaling process for me, but I definitely think we all work in slightly different ways 🤗💕
I really like how you make your pages come together...it always turns out so creative...I was just wondering if you put February 2019 on the label you put on the top left page? I have done that a few times...usually takes till about the end of Feb to the beginning of March for me to lose writing the previous year...lol...have a great weekend and thanks for sharing!!! : )
Lucie Kuderova Thank you so much Lucie ☺️ I tend to pick a theme, like vintage or floral and get started. I don’t really plan anything in advance, other than grab a few supplies that fit in with that theme 💕
I don’t understand why people like washi tape...to me it makes the page look messy!🤷♀️ ...I’m not being critical, I absolute love your journaling ideas...you are incredibly talented...I am just not a fan of washi tape when anyone uses it...
Karen E Thank you so much for your kind comments Karen ☺️ I’m a huge fan of washi tape, but I love that there are so many other options available too 💕
You should do a video on penmanship...I don’t like writing in my journals because my penmanship is awful! Do you know that they aren’t even teaching cursive handwriting in elementary school any longer!!! That’s a tragedy in my estimation!!!
