- Holy Moly, well I guess I’m a little more comfortable talking to a camera than I realized 😂
Sorry this is so long; if you just want to see the progress on my DP, then just watch for the first few minutes or so.
Otherwise, enjoy as I talk about diamond painting and random info about me.
This is my very first WIP & Chat and it's a little nerve-wracking to share, so thank you for being kind and patient with me as I figure it out :)
I have absolutely no patience for using tweezers when diamond painting lol. This looks amazing so far. I've done a couple big ones, but not quite this big. Good job!
They aren't quite as satisfying as just using the pen haha. I wish I could use the pen alone, but I can just place so much straighter with the tweezers. Thank you for checking out this WIP!
I struggle with tweezers to - hurts my hand. But I do like to use them with AB diamonds to protect the extra sparkled coating
I’ve bought some tweezers the same make as yours and they’re also slanted, I’ve used the pointed ones before. Please do you have any tips on the best way to use them, I watch your videos to see how you do it. Thanking you for any help/tips you can give me.
Enjoyed learning more about you. Love your voice, so hope you do more WIP and chats 🙂
Thank you Ailarra, that is so nice of you to say :)
Love your technique for placing square diamonds!
Thank you! It bothers me so much when they get uneven, so I've been messing around with different methods :)
Hi! I just found your channel and loved this video. I was watching it while working on my first ever diamond painting so it gave me company! I’m 18 years old and am also from California! Specifically SoCal so it’s been getting warm here too
Hi Jasmine! Thank you! So exciting you're working on your first ever diamond painting. Are you hooked yet? hahaha It's nice to hear from another Californian, I hope you're doing well down in SoCal!
Diamond Delight I am definitely hooked! I have ordered some on AliExpress but those might take a long time to arrive so I’m looking to canvasses on Amazon. Do you recommend any sellers on amazon?
I attended Sac State and spent time in Hillsborough/Burlingame. Memory lane when you mentioned UC Davis and your residence in the Bay area. Love the wip and chat and getting to know you. Hope you will film more. Your field in occupational therapy sounds challenging and rewarding. And really cool techniques with the tweezers. Thanks for sharing.
What a small world! Great to hear from someone familiar with the Bay area as well; it's pretty wonderful! Thank you for reaching out and happy diamond painting!
My square diamond paintings will be coming in so, I will be kitting the one that comes in first, and watching others and your videos on diamond painting with squares. Thanks again
Yay! Squares are so much fun, can't wait for you to try them!!
@@DiamondDelight I've done squares before,,, and I would rather do the square drills then rounds. I like your technique on the way you line the squares up, to keep then strIght. The one I have that's coming in is the confetti multicolored horses. That one will take a while to finish, till my super big one gets in like the one you did.
I just started diamond painting in Sept when my last baby left for boot camp. I was sad and need a hobby. This is so relaxing im on my second one now.
It's a great hobby to take up! Brings me so much relaxation and enjoyment as well :) Hope you're doing well!
@@DiamondDelight yes I am i just learned how to use the other side of the pen to place like 6 diamonds. I cut on some jazz and I be in my zone
Love the vid but I have a small tip for recording something like this. It was good, not blurry and nice to look at but your hand was always in the way. There is a easy way to fix this. Since your dominant hand is your right you move the camera to the left and tilt the camera to your right. This should give you a better angle and get your hand taking up less view. The only down side is the camera may get in your way if it bothering you to much just lower the camera and tilt the camera a little more. Be careful though don’t go to low because than we would not be able to see anything. It takes practice in finding the balance but I’m sure you will get it. C:
Also instead of moving the camera move the canvas (it’s easier). (Unless it’s to adjust the zoom in/out)
Thank you Kaitlyn!! Since posting this video, I looked back at it and was thinking the same thing! Grateful to have tips like this to help me improve my videos :)
Diamond Delight it no problem I’m always happy to help I may not be a professional but I know a few tips and tricks that can help.
I enjoyed your video. My step mom had Italian Greyhounds. They are always cold so needs a sweater or on your lap. When the dog got older we had to watch how far we allowed it to jump, they break their legs easier. Soft though, not fluffy soft but smooth soft. Good luck with your job hunt. Oh I am 57 and been diamond painting since August 2019.
Thank you Karen! Oh, I didn't know about the sweaters, but that makes sense since their fur is so short! I wouldn't be opposed to just keeping them on my lap 24/7 :) I would definitely need to do my research before getting one, so thank you for sharing that information with me.
Awesome video I have been diamond painting for 2years I am still new if very addictive doing it anyway please keep safe and well love Lesley 😍
It'll look great once it's done! 😍
Thank you!
Wow you are young lol my daughters are getting into diamond painting too and they are in the 20s also which I totally support and I help them to shop for painting too which companies to go with or not to go with but I hope you keep on wip and chats hun you have a great voice to listen to
Oh that's wonderful! How fun to have the family in on it together! I'm sure they appreciate your help in picking out diamond paintings :)
And thank you so much for your kind words 😊
I go to OT for vision therapy after multiple concussions/tbi. It is very helpful.
I interned at a neuro-center specializing in TBIs and we did a lot of vision-related therapy. The eyes are so complex, it's amazing! I'm glad you found it helpful and wish you the best of luck with treatment! Doing DPs would definitely put your visual skills to good use!
i started doing diamond painting when i was 10 now im 12 im addicted to it -w-
That's great!!! How did you first find out about it?
@@DiamondDelight my mother bought two i thought it was fun so i tried it and its pretty satisfying
excellent video! did you willing to testing others pics of diamond painting?
Thank you! Yes, I'm willing to try out other diamond paintings! I have a few other companies lined up at the moment!
Hello ..I love the diamond painting!
Thank you! I was really happy with how it turned out!
I use the cheap tweezers to open my Elizabeth Ward containers lol
Really good video :)
😆 I'm not the only one!
The tweezers trick is awesome! Was having a hard time tonight while watching this video, so it was perfect timing lol
Haha it's weird how much it helps! My lids have started to loosen up, so I can open more of them with my fingernail now, but there still some that will only budge with the tweezer ends!
Do you find the larger trays settle the drills a lot better?
I do find it easier with a larger tray. The walls are higher and there's more surface area, so you can shake a little more vigorously without causing the drills to spill out.
Not an essential, but if you're able to get your hands on one, I think it's worth trying out!!
im a 15 year old diamond painter, and i too get surprised when someone as young as 20-30 diamond paint. As well as cross stitch
Yes, it seems there is a more diverse age range than I thought!! Cross stitch is a wonderful hobby as well. I haven't completed one on my own, but have helped my mom with her projects once or twice!
Ima 10 year old diamond painter lol nearly 11
Omg how did she get her drills soooo straight it looks so good 😊
Thank you!! ☺️
I was raised in Oakland California my son is still in San Pablo California and works in South San Francisco I moved to the Fresno area about 20 years ago and I'm still here
That's amazing! It's hard to leave the Bay Area once you live here ☺️ So cool to know there are other people so close by who share this hobby!
I'm from bay Area Oakland to be exact right now I live in Fresno. What part of BayArea do you live ?
What a small world!! Hello fellow bay arian! :P
I would love to see a post review
I'm almost done! One more section left, and then I'll make a post review!
😊☺️🙂
I have been diamond painting since I was 9 and now i am 11
Wow, that's amazing! I love hearing about people discovering diamond painting at different stages in their lives so thanks for sharing!
Quick question...the wax will not stay in the pen... does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi Dianna. Are you using regular drills or AB (aurora borealis - they are more sparkly) drills? I have heard the AB drills stick to the wax more and can pull it out of the pen. When working with AB drills, it is best to use your wax on regular drills first so it gets a little less "sticky" and then use it on the AB drills.
If you are experiencing this problem with regular drills, then I would suggest really pushing the wax into your pen. Maybe dip it into the pad 2 or 3 times and then wipe off the extra.
@@DiamondDelight It was sticking fine until I got to the sparkly drills... I bet that's what happened! They probably did pull the wax out! I will stick with the regular drills for now, thank you so much!
Sure thing! I have heard that once your wax starts to have trouble picking up the normal drills, then move to the ABs. Hope it works!!
How big is this so your doing?
It's 120 x 60 cm! I finished it and posted a video of the final painting!
Ooh I to do the same
I'm 22 and I diamond paint
That's awesome! Nice to hear from you :)
