The Little Red Wagon along with Hemi Under Glass were both huge stars in my day. Good job on this build Mark. My only issue is the hat on the carbs but the rest of the build is your usual top drawer stuff.
I got to see the little red wagon run down at the Long beach drag strip, it was a real crowd pleaser . nothing like it at the time. .Calif. 1960's thanks for bringing it back. .
FYI- Johnny Lighting by Topper, didn't come out until 1969 !... It challenged Hot Wheels 1/64 diecast cars, which debuted in 1968.... Many other inaccuracies from Mark about the LRW. One of which was , it was originally built and owned by the Chrysler Corp. in 1964, and raced to show off their new Hemi Engine and the A100 trucks. And Bill Golden wasn't even the first race driver of the truck- he was the 2nd, and when Mopar realized the truck couldn't be competitive as an A/FX class raced- since it couldn't keep the front wheels on the ground, they sold the truck to their 2nd driver - Bill "Maverick" Golden, who realized it's potential to become a Exhibition Racer !
I had the chance to meet the man on a more personal level. Spend the afternoon, eat some food, go for a ride in one of his "Wagons". He definitely wasn't what I was expecting from someone that had been in Hot Rod magazine and famous. He was just a guy that was like anyone else. He was down to earth and treated me like we had been best friends for years. One of the highlights of my life.
@@rayhope7957 - It's a play on the original truck that it's named after, Bill 'Maverick' Golden's "Little Red Wagon". They replaced the word 'Red' with 'Dead' to keep with the "Graveyard Carz" theme of the series, where they literally bring back cars from the dead and miraculously restore them.

You can have an ordinary old mopar ,truck or car and its just not worth looking at, but but if it has a HEMI now its got a eye catching sparkle. There's just something about a HEMI that will make people get goose bumps. A great build and a way to remember the original owner of the red wagon. Bill Maverick Golden - RIP
Absolutely. Dodge really dropped the ball on the retro-charger in my opinion. Being the owner of a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 big block car, seeing Dodge do a real retro 1968 Charger R/T build (like they did with the 1970 Challenger R/T would be sweet.
What I loved with that crate is how smooth it sounds cranking out 1k. Old school cars they'd take that 426, with a blower and a lumpy cam, and the motor idles like an oversized Harley, for 25% less HP
Royal "I've never seen him speechless..." FINALLY, an episode that I've never seen before!! How'd that happen? PS: The SuperCharger's fenders are too much. The rest of the the concept car is good. Maybe it's a little too long or big, though?
It looks like an all wheel drive car with those giant wheels, I agree with you there is something funky with the front fender area. It doesn't look sleek and clean like the original, there's a lot of funky stuff hanging off of it. But if they put it into production I wouldn't complain, it's better than nothing
Not to mention the truck was a wheelie racer. Exhibition style wheel standing for the hole quarter mile. That was the draw. First saw the truck when I was 10 years old at US 30 Drag strip.
I love them too becasue it's so cool, but after 14 years of manuals with a 5th and even 6th gear giving me at least one overdrive...I want a car that should have a 4 speed but has a 6, so I can afford to take it somewhere.
