This beautiful poetry sung by Ustad Ghulam ali khan creates a feeling of downpour of rain of flowers falling from the heaven , the words are so gripping and absorbing that i sensed having stopped breathing , completely lost in state of trance. Though beautiful but so depressing at times i said to myself is this beauty of the orient. We, Pakistanis are not only very proud of him but consider his art as a gift for all those wherever they are who follow him and appreciate his great work.

Mehdi Hasan Saheb hails from Rajasthan fyi. Ghulam Ali Saheb is Punjabi. Entire Punjab was part of Hindostan till the politicians (both hindu and muslim) with small minds divided the nation. So Pakistan was and will remain a subset of Hindostan whether anybody likes it or not. Pakistan's wretched existence happened because of geopolitical maneuvering and not naturally. It is just a poor derivative of Hindostan. Now coming to your convoluted comparison, I respectfully submit that an artist belongs to all art lovers and we are immensely proud of both the aforementioned greats. We love them as much as the Pakistan is if nit more. In fact most of the pakistani greats have found validation first in India (most of them starve in Pakistan anyway - no big wonder since the pakistanis don't have enough to eat leave alone patronising artists). However, for ignorant pakistani people permit me to say that there is Mohammed Rafi Saheb and Begum Akhtar who are musical geniuses and are beyond comparison not to mention Lata Mangeshkar Kishore and Geeta Dutt. All idiots will be well advised not to bring up comparisons. Just enjoy the divine music and spread happiness. There is no space for small minds in musical fora.
