Watching this reminds me of my grandpa's tattoo. It's at least 50 years old now and it's probably a good things it's no longer legible as it was his ex's name haha. Props to my grandma for overlooking that lol
I hate the fact that Many tattoo artists in Instagram, in the "healed" section, upload 3 weeks old or a month old tattoo. Man, I think that After a month the tatoo is still new
I have a tattoo with fine lines, it's only been 2 years but so far there hasn't been any noticeable change. I do take care of it with sunscreen. But I think how your fine line tattoo looks after a few years really depends on the artists making it. Besides, even if it doesn't look beautiful anymore by the time I turn 70+ I won't care either. It kinda reminds me of the type of people who say "you know your skin will age and your tattoo won't look nice forever". But isn't our beauty temporary too? Getting to age and get wrinkly is something I see as a privilege, that not everyone gets to experience. It's kind of beautiful to see the mark of time on your skin too
The second finger tattoo 😳 I just got a tattoo 2,5 weeks ago and I had recently a nightmare that I woke up and most of my tattoo faded like that (luckily it has healed well and it’s a sword with a snake & roses that looks amazing).
I have a braille tattoo that reads 'infinite vision' and I am SO interested to see how it ages. It will be 2 years old in October 2023. I'm a homebody so it rarely sees the sun, so the black ink is still pretty dark, but the dots have begun to lose a bit of their crispness.
That tribal lower back tattoo, my mom has a tribal sun band around her ankle, and it was yellow, red, and blue when she got it, but now all the color is gone. It's been like 20 years though lol.
I love watching you, one of the only people I could fall asleep too. It's more of a compliment than it sounds due to me never being able to sleep with any noise.
Feel like it should be noted that the eagle around the 11 minute mark is freaking TINY. I mean, you can see the size of it in relation to the body hair. All the more impressive that it's so legible at 28 years.
Personally, i like it when dot work and wood print style lines bleed out with time. The way the ink spreads makes the whole area more consistent in shading than if you shade with multiple pigments, because different pigments tend to spread or fade at different rates, but if you use just one or 2, they will do so more consistently. For a well done tattoo that doesn't have an issue of ink being pushed out due to infection or complicated healing, the prime age when it looks the best imo is between 5 and 20 years since it has been done. After 20 - 25 years the great majority of them need a retouch or a cover up job due to the major saturation loss regardless of what ink has been used. And sure, the technology goes forward as you said and maybe 2020's tattoos would be fine well past 2050's, but everything i have seen done before the 21st century is just going too pale or too patchy or too desaturated to the point that if i had those tats (i don't because i was just a gangly kiddo back then), i would have them fixed.
Finally made it. Let’s get it! I can’t wait to see how my tattoos will age (to think I have a tattoo that’s almost ten years old is wild). I got burned by boiling water and it burned the tattooed skin but I don’t think I’ll be getting a touch up (I was close to reconsidering😅); still visibly bruised though.
I just read an article that re-wrote an article on fine line tattoos. The girl was a tiktoker talking about her fine line tattoo, and how badly it had started to bleed and fade. The re-write said her tattoo looked amazing, clearly not written by a tattoo person I’ll link it if I can find it because ooooh boy
About that one finger Tattoo where the ink fell out: I don't think that happened in a month. I think what OP meant that they had it done October 2021, not October 21st. I feel like that makes more sense. ^^"

My first tattoo hit 20yrs today and it's a colored lower back...I forget I have it at times but I've seen it alot more these last few years than when I got it because of my two back surgeries lol...bot times my doctor managed to put it back together pretty well
7:12 oh my god, that’s one of my favorite songs!! “The sun will rise and we will try again.” Truce, Twenty One Pilots. I want to get a tattoo for that band but haven’t decided what yet. And for reference, I’ve been following them as long as that person’s had their tat- not my favorite anymore, but their old stuff still hits and I want to commemorate the impact they’ve had on my life.
My oldest tattoo is about 17 years old. Full color, looks very similar. Little fading but not much. My skin is paper white so i dont spend much time in the sun, and if i do i use sunscreen, which im sure helps.
Thank you for all your hard work I love your videos your passion shows in every video and I love your voice is beautiful you are such a genuine sweet person and I love your personality and your collection of art
i feel like every time i'm watching your vids, i'm off to get a new tattoo. i swear i don't have a problem LOL. having a session tomorrow! then i think i'll settle down for a bit haha.
I need to post my aged lettering cause i can barely read it at a ripe age of 11 years being on my body lol. We always try to advise clients to go bigger for lettering but of course some wont budge even knowing the inevitable outcomes. I wish i gone bigger or just didn’t get it, but it was my first tattoo and the quote was important to me at the time. I plan to cover it eventually with a full back piece.
I'd like to know exactly how all of the orange and green ink came out of the floral tattoo at 5:45? I'd have expected it to have some fading, but it surprised me to see that there was nothing left at all. I definitely don't know a lot about tattoos, nor do I have any, but I thought that one was really strange!

7:40 no idea if anyone has commented this, also doubt it will really be seen as the video is over a year old now, but the notes with the dots are dotted quarter notes, and they’re honestly just called dotted notes, nothing fancy 😂
Do you think that the green fades to blue with time because the yellow pigment in the green fades away faster than blue? Blue pigment does seem to stand the test of time better 🤔
I have the side of my fingers tattooed and the reality is that your skin will either take the ink or just yeet it back out lol Now i am a very lucky individual as 90% of mine stayed in the first time. My artist did touch up the one that half didn’t stay but even though it got a bit better it just never stuck. I now have a little ufo ship instead of a planet and a funny story to tell. No regrets and tbh all the rest looks amazing but like i said i know i’m one of the extremely lucky ones who’s skin takes ink like a champ even on fingers.
I know a lot of people go for touch ups over the years so this doesn’t happen does that help will the touch ups just temporarily help I don’t have any tattoos but when I think of getting one my biggest worry is how they will age
Any advice for going to your first tattoo expo? I plan on going to one in 2023 with my best friend, and we plan on getting tattooed while there! Any advice/tips/suggestions?
Don’t skip out on merch stalls, there’s always hella cool small businesses selling great stuff! Check out the artist list on the website aswell and see if there’s any you like and it might mention which area / booth their tattooing in so if you want to you can head straight to them to get a walk up appointment!! I also recommend walking around a few times cause you’ll see either bigger tattoos being progressively done in one day or you’ll see one artist go through quite a few in a day which is always fun! Another thing that I love to do is just sit down and grab a snack or food and just people watch 😂 you’ll notice there’s so many different walks of life there but you all have the same love for tattoos and art!
I hear the bold will hold all the time. But I just don't care for traditional style art. Each to thier own but I do not like it or want it on my body. I have neo traditional and some watercolour.
