Hello,I guess you might possibly answer my following questions about the 335i gearing (manual 6speed shiftgear) : - as far as I know the 335i does reach top speed in 5th gear whereas 6th basically works as an overdrive for better fuel economy on long highway trips. Can you confirm or am I wrong in some respects ? - being the 6th ratio high geared,so that the engine can't top the red line, I wonder whether an uptuned 335 engine around 350/370 hp could get to red line notwithstanding such a high ratio. I mean,306 hp can't get to full revs but with a 50/60hp increase could a 335i engine spin up to red line ? Thanks for any infos about my query !
@@INDIGOBLUE555 The ZF 6HP19 in the 335i has overdrive in 5th and 6th, 0.87 and 0.69 ratios. There is a video of one doing 196 mph, that is 315 km/h in 6th gear at 6500 rpm. At 6000 rpm in 6th gear it does 180 mph, therefore, at 7000 rpm it should do around 212 mph, or 341 km/h, which is insane speed. For that it needs at least another 150 hp over the stock 306 - 310 hp. Never mind, I've seen you wrote that for manual E90. In that case, from what I''ve seen, they can reach max. rpm of 7000 rpm in 6th with ~400 hp. So you need at least 80 hp more.
