    Have you ever used HEC-RAS for Road project drainage?

    Amazing video, do you think we can use it for modeling opend drainage ditches!

      Yes definitely! That’s what I use it for!

      @@design-storm I'm so sorry, I mean for irrigation ditches, because I think in this case we need to use soil and groundwater data!

    what happened with the boundary shapefile, the video kinda went crazy there for a min. Btw thanks for uploading this, it is a life saver for me.

      Sorry- was experimenting with some video editing tools to trim out blank sound! I’m still Learning! What’s the timestamp where you’re noticing the issue?

      Just found what you were talking about at 22:00. What a crazy youtube experience! Clearly my video editing skills need some work :-O

    Hello, where did you get the info for the flow hydrograph explained at 16:32?

    • @design-storm
      @design-storm  Год назад +1

      I honestly just put a large flow in there to see what would happen. Where I lived, the 100 year flood is roughly 1cfs per impervious acre

    The culverts in my Hecras Model does not actually suck the water, is there a way i am to put them in as the SA2D structure Stops the water but the water eventually overflows pass the barrier
    How can one model such that it actually flows through the culvert instead of pass

      did you perhaps skip a step? Do you add the diameter? Is your weir in correctly?

    I added culverts and get this error: The SA 2D connection at ROADWAY has a culvert lower than the cell it is connected to. No idea how to fix this. Do you? The inverts of the culvert match the GIS data and measurement from using the CNTRL key. I am flummoxed.

    • @design-storm

      I don’t know! If you try raising it up slightly will it work? Or perhaps lowering the cell slightly?

      @@design-storm if only works when i make the upstream culvert invert = to cell on top of roadway embankment. That does not make sense. How do i lowerr a cell? Thanks!

      Sorry just seeing this! You’d have to use raster calculator tools in GIS with your DTM or version 6.0+ of ras has terrain modification tools built in :)

      @@josephbartell8175 did you find a solution for this? I continue to get the same error (has a culvert lower than the cell it is connected to (this is not allowed in HEC-RAS)

    • @josephbartell8175
      @josephbartell8175 Год назад

      @@sierraphillips3145 hi. Yes, I did. I edited my model to the following: i made two mesh files : 1 upstream of culvert and 1 downstream. I then added a culvert using 1 d tools- connecting culvert to US and DS mesh.
      The error was due to hec rad not being able to differentiate the elevation in the mesh vs the inverts I input. If you need more clarity let me know.
