Believe it or not but energizer Z was the original concept for the go nagi manga, but was changed because of shotaro inomori's manga already having a motorbike based hero, so the control panel was changed with a hovercraft and the mecha was renamed to mazinger Z

Go Nagai at first was gonna name Mazinger Z, Energer Z, and thought on a pilot climbing the robot on a motorcycle... then he scrapped the idea and ended up with the classic Mazinger Z, but still used the idea for Diana, Sayaka's second robot.... He did it here in shin Mazinger as an easter egg, as great part of his fans knew about it...

And, last but not least, the idea of putting everything in (original manga, "Relic of Terror", "Z Mazinger" and even the unused preliminary sketches) just DOES NOT WORK. The original series is a million times better.
