Mr. Carter, you are so inspiring! I'm a "Naptown Cat" (Local-3), who was mentored on bass by Mingo Jones; I'm now 68, and thought I was "aging out", and here you are, going strong, at 83! I just am curious: do you always carry your own bass? I have crammed them into some small cars, and am now on my 4th mini-van. I also play guitar and drumset, but sometimes wish I'd majored in something small and light, like harmonica. Ha ha! I never had a "roadie" (well, my wife would beg to differ)! I'm no fancy soloist; I just make the changes, and as you well know, we bassists are the "heartbeat" of the band! May God bless you, and may He allow you to continue to live long and healthy!

Depending on the situation, I often carry my own bass as I did that night. But I have people who help with amps and other equipment, and sometimes the bass as well.
