Hope you enjoy this one guys! 2020 has been a terrible year for travel and freedom in general, this should hopefully bring you along with us on our journey to the Italian alps. Cheers and stay safe ❤️
Really nice, I wish I were there...I imagined myself having a cold beer sat in the terrace of the hotel contemplating the views. Nice drone shots too. Keep it up.
Great pictures, Joe! Lovely car, please pick me up next time here in Austria when you drive to the passo stelvio (in german it's called the Stilfser Joch)... ;)
Hi Joe, great video! Can you provide the route you took to the Stelvio Pass? Looks like a great roadtrip that I would like to go along when life permits. Cheers!
Your opening drone shot is just killer. You were lucky to get the pass all to yourself. It has started snowing there, I guess after a couple of weeks after you were there.
Stelvio, one of the most gorgeous roads in Europe. Thanks for the epic drone shots. I have been there 2 times before and it brings back memories! Am amazed that you GF did not get car sickness, she has a strong stomach ;-) Cheers mate
Once a long term sub who watched occasionally, now I never miss an upload. What a transformation the channel has taken and stories like this for an Aussie viewer are the reason why I love watching 🍻
Brings back memories of my Euro road trip in 2008, which came about after watching the Top Gear episode there. I was lucky enough to drive it in the sunshine too, sans roof. As you say, not the best driving road but amazing views. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I always book a room at that hotel when going to Stelvio, so nice for a morning drive before breakfast. Only downside is going to sleep at night, there are cows with noisy bells going around just outside the rooms! :)
Great video. Must add. Been there. Done it including BB. As for 'the Pass' well known, best done in a very small powerful car but wouldn't kick the M8 out of bed.
Amazing video! You have just helped me remember how much fun i had on the way to Stelvio Pass some years ago. By accident i landed up on Passo di Gavia (at night+fog), after some great driving between Trento and Passo del Tonale. Anyway, enjoy your holiday :)
Fantastic video as always Joe. I'm practically doing the same route with friends and staying at the Berghotel at the end. Driving a.... you guessed it, M140i 😁
Great video as always, Not jealous at all that must’ve been a great road trip absolutely loving the colour of that M8 competition grand coupe the car itself looks brilliant looking forward to a full review of it,
Great vdo again . Nice to see Lou also with you. Nice family kinda trip which I like a lot. Grt car too. Sounds nice I have to say. More in this trip pls Joe and Lou. 🚘😉
I just can’t get on board with the styling , but then I felt the same 2 gens ago. At least I might be able to afford one when I can finally appreciate the styling hahaha
Great content as always! Have you tried the Grimsel pass followed by the Furka pass then the Gottard pass? Initially i was told to try the furka pass but the grimsel pass is the ultimate for me, wide enough for 2 cars to pass, stunning views and excellent for a bit of a spirited drive
Thanks man! Yeah done them all, amazing roads but the Swiss hate cars so much nowadays 😬 Also couldn't do Switzerland or France with quarantine rules this trip unfortunately 👌
Cycled up that side years ago, where it's very tight, from the stuff going past me it looked most fun for the supermoto style motorbikes. I then descended down to Bormio and that side looked like it would be a lot more fun for driving. At that time (2008) I think the Umbria pass side was still a dirt road :)
Loved this epic video but just had to nitpick (1) Should clean the windshield before you set off in the morning; and (2) at around 12 minutes, you said the car is 5 meters wide - LOL! Not sure if you caught that yet ....... As I said the video & your trip are both EPIC! Thanks for posting this!
Awesome roads down there. Done the stelvio a few times but on bikes never in a car. As you say when it’s busy it’s a total nightmare road. Especially the tourist buses
As stunning to look at as it is Stelvio is hard work even in an M3 CSL 🙈🤣 I found it more enjoyable going up it 👌🏼 than down. Watch out for cyclists and buses 😲 Love your drone shots from top of Stelvio 👌🏼 Thanks for sharing your experience 👍🏼
You’re killing me (in the best way). I was supposed to do ED (from the states) for my M2C and this was on our itinerary. After delaying the trip 3 times we finally gave in and cancelled the trip and got the car shipped direct.
Agree all the way. Stelvio is amazing views and something to tell your friends you’ve done but too fiddly to be a great driving road. The B500 you drove near Baden Baden is much more enjoyable to drive (or ride, have to confess I’ve only done them on a bike)
I think the M8 (with its rear-wheel steering) is probably better suited for those hairpins than an F8x M3/M4. The turning circle on those is pretty shocking for such a small vehicle.
Hope you enjoy this one guys! 2020 has been a terrible year for travel and freedom in general, this should hopefully bring you along with us on our journey to the Italian alps. Cheers and stay safe ❤️

Joe Achilles could u do a review on a roll Royce wraith full black
Hi Joe, great video! Can you provide the route you took to the Stelvio Pass? Looks like a great roadtrip that I would like to go along when life permits. Cheers!
I have to say, your tone of voice and the way you talk is so likeable and way underrated.
Thanks buddy 👌
6:08 The M8 Gran Coupe Comp looks absolutely gorgeous. Best looking model of the current BMWs for sure.
Absolutely, maybe the new 3 series can compete and that's it. But 8 series is the best looking BMW in years.
2 door coupe kinda looks better to me.
That area of the black forest is gorgeous. Missed content like this! 👍🏻
So jelly. Need to try do something like this before December or another lockdown!
Cheers buddy, sorry Lou replaced you on this one 🤣😘♥️
What a video,some editing,Stelvio is just stunning,shots are beautiful.Glad you enjoyed it,thanx for sharing
The pre-view on Instagram already looked pretty good. The full video is a real delight!
Great video Joe, I must say the production quality is excellent. Those drone shots of Stelvio are incredible. Thank-you!
One of my favourite ever videos of yours, and definitely a dream car and road trip combination. Some life inspiration right there!
Your opening drone shot is just killer. You were lucky to get the pass all to yourself. It has started snowing there, I guess after a couple of weeks after you were there.
Thank you! Yeah we heard literally 8-9 days after that was filmed the snow started to fall... Great timing 👌
Stelvio, one of the most gorgeous roads in Europe. Thanks for the epic drone shots. I have been there 2 times before and it brings back memories! Am amazed that you GF did not get car sickness, she has a strong stomach ;-) Cheers mate
Great video Joe, you captured Stelvio really accurately as to how it is, over rated "driving road" but a beautiful picture. Good job.
Once a long term sub who watched occasionally, now I never miss an upload. What a transformation the channel has taken and stories like this for an Aussie viewer are the reason why I love watching 🍻
Wow. The roadtrip, the places, the cars... that is absolute dream!
Living the RUclips dream. Graft really pays off maximum respect joe love the vids since day 1!!
Nice video, definitely need to get myself down to the Alps in the near future. Would be great to see you try out those roads with the new M3 👍
Joe that’s surely the best looking car BMW currently makes. Absolutely stunning machine especially in that specification.
Epic, Joe. Simply glorious!
That thumbnail image is spectacular! The vid is tiding me over ‘til the next Petrolhead Tour. Lovely stuff!
Opening sequence, that view of the mountain pass is ridiculous Joe. Enjoy the M8 Joe.
Those corners😍

Genuinely enjoyed this video... the roads are getting me jealous. Need to film my S3 there!🥺 keep up the work bro!
You should come to Romania once, mate. We have some lovely mountain roads like Transalpina, Transbucegi, Transfagarasan.
I cant believe I missed this video. Absolutely beautiful stuff.👌
Good to see you happy with a partner buddy ;) great video as always
I certainly enjoyed the mountain roads more than I enjoyed the car. Driving any good sports car through those roads would be fun and enjoyment.
Wow 😀 Great video. Great scenery. Great presenting. Thanks for the upload 👍🏻
Really enjoyed watching this!
Thanks buddy 🙌👊♥️
Was looking forward to this one and not disappointed!
Great to hear, thanks for watching 👌
@@JoeAchilles1 My pleasure, I have a lot more of your vids to catch up on too!
Keep up the great work!

Only downside is going to sleep at night, there are cows with noisy bells going around just outside the rooms! :)
We were thinking of doing almost the exact trip but the opposite way starting from Bari! Your video just fueled our hunger!
Great to watch a road trip, its been a while. I think the M2 comp would have been more fun through those tight hairpins and roads.
Be careful through France Belgium 🤔 hefty fine awaits , lovely video 👍
Best video you've done I think. Car and locations perfect
Loved it. Brought back so many great memories of doing the same in the MINI GP2s.
Fantastic video as always Joe. I'm practically doing the same route with friends and staying at the Berghotel at the end. Driving a.... you guessed it, M140i 😁

Stunning drive, stunning car, great vid Joe
Really good production quality, nice presentation, fantastic car and amazing scenery. What more could you ask for?
Did this drive a few years ago, ---- unforgettable experience.
Love the Stelvio Pass
Top video Joe and amazing scenary 👍
I just can’t get on board with the styling , but then I felt the same 2 gens ago. At least I might be able to afford one when I can finally appreciate the styling hahaha
Even the automatic subtitles at 00:09 like your video: [Applause]
Fantastic!!!! Brilliant shots!!!
Well done!!!!
We do really enjoy these roadtrips.
Great content as always!

The best car video this month if not for the whole of this year.
Massive compliment! Thank you 👌👊♥️
Another awesome video Joe. Thanks for sharing.

The way that Huracan sounds 🥺😭😭♥️♥️
Thanks Joe for sharing this with us!
Alps are beautiful!
Joe I really enjoy your road trip videos and what a magnificent car . 😊
Awesome roads down there. Done the stelvio a few times but on bikes never in a car. As you say when it’s busy it’s a total nightmare road. Especially the tourist buses

Great scenery. Love it !
Nice video again Joe. Love the m8 so much
At 12:17 Joe says that the M8 is five meters wide. Wow, that is a W I D E car! 😜
You’re killing me (in the best way). I was supposed to do ED (from the states) for my M2C and this was on our itinerary. After delaying the trip 3 times we finally gave in and cancelled the trip and got the car shipped direct.
What a great video. Thanks Joe
Great video Joe!
Some of my favourite roads ! Very jealous! Pick up a Stevio cycling top from the top....and maybe a Bianchi!
Simply AMAZING great content 👏 👌
Man, I need a road trip.
Looks like you got up really early for the pass, great decision!
They are some seriously amazing looking roads. We keep talking about a euro trip...that talk needs to be one action by the looks of it.
Never skip a Joe Achilles video
Holy crap Joe. This is content....
😂 Thanks buddy, hope you're well man 👊
Looks so beautiful. The views alright too 😂
Nice vid Joe! Great car, wonderful location!12.20 ish ‘over 5m’s wide’ CAN YOU IMAGINE 😂
At 12:20 you say a car thats over 5mtrs wide .. didnt think BMW make their cars that wide lol
🤣 Yeah was too early in the morning, get it right a bit further down the pass...
@@JoeAchilles1 at my age i get those problems all day long haha
That was after the "early dinner and a beer maybe" or two or so...^^
Amazing Views !!! cheers & thanks
Joe, Which is better audi rs7 or Bmw m8 gran coupe competition? In your opinion since you drove both these amazing car.
Wow the car the roads !

Love road trips
This is a dream to drive with that car on that road
Great shots, great car, but... rear left door, terribly fitted or not fully closed?
that looks sooo amazing. So narrow though - and it seems like there is hardly anywhere to squeeze past! Is it really as tight as it looks??
Live in italy when i saw the title i instantly thought that was in italy btw im feom uruguay
Great stuff :) , what was the hotel name you stayed in Germany ?
I think its safe to say that that car was built for wide open roads in the Black Forest or tbh any road in the US right
Finally someone said it... The Stelvio is not a "driver's" pass :) Beautiful regardless though
It is a driver's pass for drivers who can drive ;)
@@bjornkumpf274 the hairpins are too slow to enjoy.
Please take more road trips
Subscribed!!!
Thank you!
Was that green huracan stock or tuned?
You must’ve shit the bed to get a clear run over to hill😂 Try the Grossglockner pass in Austria, much quieter and plenty of places to play at the top
When Austria isn't on the quarantine list I will head back to that pass
And a lack of crash barriers if it’s still the same since my last trip to the glacier...
Hi Joe
Can you not get your hands on a new M3 or M4 Comp Xdrive to review?
I think the M8 (with its rear-wheel steering) is probably better suited for those hairpins than an F8x M3/M4. The turning circle on those is pretty shocking for such a small vehicle.
It doesn't have rear wheel steering, only regular 8's do
BEAUTIFUL :)
How does this compare to the M5 Joe?
Boom here we go :0)))
