Tried Muse after watching this video and found it to have a lot of UX issues, besides those issues it looks like a great product...unfortunately I love the simplicity of Freeform (not to mention the price). Not having multiple canvases was a big let down. But besides all that thank you for this amazing video - maybe a comparison vid of Muse vs Freeform would be cool to do...especially since several people have requested that. :)
I have been using Muse for research and thinking about projects for quite a while. Thanks for this video! I agree, the simplicity is great. There are two main differences that make Muse more useful to me than the new Apple Freeform: The ability to nest and link boards and ‘zoom’ in and out of concepts, ideas, and documents; and the ability to annotate PDF files using the pencil. While Freeform is prettier with more formatting options, it lacks the ability to annotate PDF documents directly.
"nebo" is best note talking / idea logging app there ever is!! Freeform is way simpler version of nebo. Nebo's handwriting to text conversion is at it's best.
Chris, you do a fine job conveying your enthusiasm for Muse, but I found it strange that you didn’t even mention Apple's Freeform, which we now all have for free, let alone explain how they are the same or different. I hope you will do that in a future video.
@@Dailytekk OK, fair enough. I'm sorry I didn’t know that and I'll go back and find it. But I still think that videos ought to be self-contained and that a sentence or two, if only just to say why Muse and Freeform are, or are not, comparable, would have made an interesting video even better.
I am a super fan of the IPad’s hence why I have all three sizes. Thank you so much for the apps that make us more productive with the Ipad and pencil 🎉 I love using my ipencil
Muse is a delight to use, especially if you run it on a Mac as well as an iPad - it’s a slightly different product on each. The iPhone version is a non-event, IMO. After comparing it to Freeform I took out a year’s subscription, and I work it to death as the first stage in nutting out issues. I use it for art-related topics, so I throw lots of images and pdfs at it. I get my money’s worth. At this stage Freeform has a way to go to meet the performance of Muse. Maybe next year?
What is Apples in house version called? I’m new to using an iPad and would like to use it to its full capability, also interested in getting an apple pen and start working with it. So I guess what I’m asking you, does Apple provide a built in or preloaded form of something like this that he is advertising?
There are whiteboard apps like Miro that use an infinite canvas and have a ton of business tools then there are infinite canvas apps like Muse that allow users to create nested boards and don’t have the same feature set. Other than Muse and Milanote are there any other apps that allow users to create nested boards?
I bought an Apple Pencil for my iPad a couple of years ago. I did not use it a lot… For various reasons, I did not use it for a couple of months. When I did pick it up again, it was dead. Ok. I thought it needed to be charged, so I charged it again. But it was still dead. Completely DEAD. And it stayed DEAD. Now I use a simple inexpensive stylus. I find a stylus better than my fat finger for many things. But I an NOT going to spend a lot of money on another fragile Apple Pencil.
Search, how do you search for your content in Muse Chris? ( not just the card title, but content within a card ) How can this tool be so useful to you without the ability to search for content within it? I love the flexibility, but please help me understand how to use the app without search on the ipad.
I guess I don’t really use it that way (as storage so to speak). I capture info in drafts and notes and begin to make use of it in Muse (almost temporarily). Things (thoughts) come together in Muse and then once I’ve wrapped my head around what it is I’m doing or how I’m going to do it I’ll start making use of it in other apps. It’s the beginning of my content production process rather than a destination for a final project. That’s just me though!
@@Dailytekk Yes, that makes perfect sense in that flow. A recent response from Muse support "Hi there, thanks for writing in! We’re currently only responding to urgent problems such as crash loops, data losses, or login problems*. If you’re writing in about any of these, we’ll be in touch soon." Temporary drafts is the safest route with this app at the moment, hoping they grow their team and make a few enhancements soon, great app!

Thanks for the great video... Why not do a comparison between Muse and Apple's freeform??

You can annotate pdfs on Apple notes

This canvas in canvas idea is used by Prezi for presentations since 10 years ago. Interesting usage here

I made a vid on Freeform when it was still in beta
@@Dailytekk Given how often Freeform gives me issues on my 1st-gen iPad Pro 11", no more mention of Freeform is not a fault.

Love your content Chris. Definitely will be trying out Muse based on this review 💯
Freeform should take a few cues from MUSE. Infinite boards within boards is awesome.
Thanks. I need to give Muse a try!
And FreeForm looks like Apple’s in-house version of this.

I was thinking about FreeForm the entire time I was watching this video. Glad to know others are feeling the same. 😂
How does this compare to the new Apple Freeform?
I'm wondering this too
Love Freeform and its FREE!!
Do you have to download the Free Form app to your iPad, or is it already pre installed?

OK. I have been building videos on various philosophical topics and I think this app might make it easier to map out ideas, scripts and flows.

Scrintal and Heptabase
👋🏽 New follower here… The wallpaper link doesn’t work!
I love Muse! But I still wish to have the ability to create multiple projects / canvas

Is muse totally free or is it paid app
Subscription based. Like Adobe.
love your chair, have a very similar one at home, LOL, the iPad video is good too.
Was this a paid advert for Muse Chris? Freeform is FREE and does everything Muse does?! Your video’s are usually on point - this one disappoints….
Freeform does NOT do everything muse does lol. Freeform is also a bit glitchy at launch here. Freeform is cool if free is what matters most.
Chris can you recommend an ipad app for logo creation? Thanks!!
@freesonishaku hey Chris! Love the show! I am an enthusiast of all things Mac. Hope you are prospering.
I can’t state how much I REFUSE TO PAY SUBSCRIPTIONS no way no how!!!
I didn't find this helpful in that you're talking instead of showing. It works as an advertisement though.
Subscriptiuon!! GRRR.....No thank you.
$100/year no thanks.
