In addition, despite Haseo's epitaph from in game which still allows you to continue the fight, the only way to truly defeat an epitaph user is by using Data Drain after a Protect Break and since no Persona holds that ability an Epitaph can keep regaining the minimal amount of health it needs to drag out the fight. It is basically keeping true to the original games where the Eight Phases had an infinite hit point until Data Drain was used. That is my take on it anyway, it doesn't mean the fight wouldn't be long but I just see an epitaph user winning more than a Persona user.
That is true, I added the game mechanics in my point of view in their battle to try and convey what would be the outcome. With a 1 v 1 battle of clashing fighters I probably wouldn't be able to come to an entirely clear conclusion. The fight would be more elaborate and it would perhaps be harder to define a winner.
