Hi, please, please interview the undeniably super talented JOE!! His sound is the same live in person or recorded!! Decades in the game!!#trueR&B #talent
For those who listened to Joe's version first, Case's sounds like an upgrade on an already very good song. I love both versions, but Gromyko Collins' background vocals took Case's version to another level.
I think I just saw an interview with Case telling his version of this story. Nice to hear it from Bob's perspective. This is such a great convo cause I really don't remember when I first learned about Tim&Bob but I know I wasn't crediting them properly in the 90s.
Of course I knew about this song but I thought it was a reference track. I never knew JOE released it. I'm not sure if JOE still works with Kedar 🤷🏾♀️ tho. Case took the song and gave it a little more emotionally but it's always and forever JOE for me ❤
@@ProducerTSS Oh sh*t, that song and the two stadium kick drum songs Tim & Bob did. So it's THREE fast songs they produced on Ten. Thanks for the indirect correction LoL
Both versions were good. But, i prefer Joe's version most. Something about the tone and how it sounded and how Joe sang was better to me. Plus, if anyone notices, there's a little bit more bass in Joes version, an 808 it's kind've subtle, but it's there. The case version doesn't have that. The melody in case version is better tho.
Nnamd's reaction to finding out Joe has a version of the song is priceless. I just found out too though and was equally as surprised. Just listened to Joe's version and i have to agree with Tim, Case killed it. Surprisingly Joe's vocals sound so emotionless (maybe they would have re-recorded it if they planned on releasing it) and Tim and Bob built on the production in Case's version, just listen to the guitars in the introduction.
It was on the international edition of my name is joe it didn't get on the US one there may have been a b side single too so many didn't know about his version that's not really unusual.
😂 not everyone knows who Bob Robinson is, but they know the songs. If I dropped the 3-hour interview right away it would have struggled to get views. Don't worry, it's coming 😂
Jo-Jo Brim before becoming an A&R for The Def Jam Group, he was a part of Maynes Entertainment that produced in the mid 90s for Christopher Williams & Ladae! Case and T.L.Cross (formerly of Ladae! & Morrison Slick) were working with Maynes Ent. back then as background vocalists. So the Case getting "Missing You" popping his head into the room scenario lines up about right.
Case told the story about doing reference vocals with TL on R&B money with J Valentine and Tank I can hear him clearly on be my luv !!! there is a song on his album heaven's door called you just don't know that had me feeling lovey dovey that's why I love the tracks tell me and caught you from personal conversation ❤ no I didn't forget about happily ever after on the apollo when case flung that towel you can see tl , beezo and darren along with a woman going to work on those backgrounds too.
@@md3dasnipa386he added emotional depth he lost his voice during the recording so the I can't sing no more was supposed to be a mistake but I believe Tim Kelley thought it added a magical element he was right that part is memorable.
@@kc-zf1jpI still like case and joe's newer stuff not brian as much as it doesn't connect with me anymore sadly 😔 there is one song from 2011 that Brian recorded that I still play I don't believe he was on a major label back then he went indie to E one.
Case & Joe's collaboration on "Faded Pictures" is a CERTIFIED CLASSIC
Couldn't agree more!!
Faded Pictures is absolutely classic R&B❤

Bob was one of my favourite guests
The nutty professor soundtrack
Case and Joe went on to create another classic song together called “Faded Pictures.”
I went and listened to joe's version and I prefer the case one. i like them both. Faded pictures was heat and still on my playlist.
WOW! What a story!!!!!!!
Great interview. Learned a lot. I would love to hear Joe's version

I remember Joe's being on the international edition of my name is joe my cousin had one from Japan is the reason I knew his existed
Read somewhere that they kept some of Joe's backing vocals on Case's version. Wonder if thats true
Yep it’s true if you listen closely at the end of the first verse.
they did I can still hear him clearly on like a wedding without a groom
CASE KILLED IT 💯💯💯
Those two fast songs Tim & Bob produced for Brian McKnight on his Ten album in 2006. Rizz'ed out with drip.

Joe's version of 'Missing You' was the B-Side of 'All That I Am' single.
I thought it could've been a b side I did state that same reason it was a bonus on the international my name is joe as well.

Joe is still on the chorus tho. I know I still hear him on there.. am I bugging?
You're definitely not bugging. I hear it too
@@shaunieibe2081 Yeah, it's clear.
you have such a great ear. i literally cannot hear joe on case’s version.
You're not crazy I always heard him .

Yes the international edition and b single has it.
Can you do an interview with Bernard Jackson from Surface?
I'll try
Shawn Stockman, Joe, Kevin Edmonds, Tevin Campbell, and Usher are the best tenors in popular music.
Chris Brown?
I love all of them ❤ !!!
I actually preffered Case's version, i thought his vocals fit the song better

Although R Kelly wrote make you my baby Joe's version is better to me and I love R Kelly 's musiç.
Joe nor Case is a better singer than Brian McKnight. Joe is better than Case
true but Brìan hasn't released anything that I've liked in years no offense I can't get into his new stuff his old music is better.
