    Alright for your next challenge (V4), replace the drop cup with a primed case. Have a shell plat and funnel system, that tares out the case then drops the powder into the case.

      Version five,: robotic arm resizes brass (also automatically aneals , puts in progressive charges at .1 grain intervals, and presses bullets .030” off the lands and then the robotic arm 🦾 fires the rounds with perfect support to determine the load work up for the rifle.

    My wife said you have to quit posting videos about these kinds of high-end reloading tools. Well, actually she said I need to "stop spending money on these expensive gadgets". Which by extrapolation means you have to quit posting reviews on awesome products like this. Now that I've added the AutoTrickler to my wishlist, can you post a video explaining how to embezzle money from your own bank account? I really feel that kind of info would help ensure domestic tranquility on a very localized level. LOL

    I’ve had the V2 auto throw/trickle setup for a couple of months and it’s probably the best money I’ve spent on upgrading reloading gear. I’ve already ordered most of the V3 upgrade except for the auto throw as I don’t use large extruded powders like Retumbo and the 3D Printed housing/Lee setup works for Varget/H4350. Definitely looking forward to getting the new parts in and being able to use the BT capabilities.

    The Area 419 upgrades are the way to go. Bluetooth would be nice.

  • @boutique53
    @boutique53 3 года назад

    I've had one for about six months now. It's a really nice piece of kit and very accurate, but it's not perfect. I've run into three problems that keep popping up. 1#. Bluetooth connectivity. On at least four occasions, the V3 would not connect with either my iPhone or iPad despite repeated attempts. All my other Bluetooth devices connected with no problem, so it is something in the V3 itself. Four times in six months is not that bad, and after doing a cold reboot (actually unplugging it from the power supply and plugging it back in) it usually connected just fine. #2. Runaway powder thrower. About once every 80 drops or so (on average), the powder thrower starts cycling repeatedly after the trickler kicks in to top off the charge. Usually after four or five extra dumps it stops by itself and I just dump the overcharge back in the hopper and continue. So far, it's always stopped after 4-5 extra throws but things could get dicey if it didn't. #3. Runaway trickler. This has only happened twice, but it's been twice in the last 200 rounds or so. Hopefully this isn't a developing trend. When it happens, it is in the middle of weighing a charge. The trickler will suddenly go to full speed and won't stop until I either cancel the charge and stop it manually, or shut the entire unit off. My main concern with these runaways is that I don't feel I can start a charge and walk away for fear of a huge pile of powder laying on the balance when I get back. Other than these three issues the machine has been fine. I have no regrets buying it and use it regularly for loading .223, .308, 6CM, 6.5CM, and 6BR.

      Took me about 50 rounds of precision loads to get hooked :)

  • @boutique53
    @boutique53 4 года назад

    I bought one and have loaded a couple hundred rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor and 6BR so far. The accuracy is pretty much as-stated at +/- 0.02 grains. From my experience, it's spot on about 40% of the time, 0.02 gr. light about 50%, and 0.02 gr. over about 10% using H4350 or Varget stick powder. I'm just guessing, but I think ball powders might work better just because they flow better. Anyway, it ain't cheap, but only costs about $100 more than the RCBS Matchmaster. Whether or not it's worth the price depends on what you're looking for. This tool is mainly for those who are into precision long range shooting. If you are just plinking at 100 or 200 yds., then it's overkill. Prior to buying the AutoTrickler I used a Chargemaster Lite. I can say with certainty that my groups are tighter now. This is especially noticeable at 800+ yards.

    Would it be possible/not too difficult to make some sort of a “quick-change” system for the powder dispenser so rather than turning the stick in/out you just take out your 50-grain tube and pop in a 25-grain tube, if you understand what I’m failing to describe? Still have them be adjustable obviously. But that way you could say set a tube for your 6.5 creedmoor and then if you want to change over to .223 you just pop in that tube quick. Save some time fine-tuning that initial charge throw

    • @Ultimatereloader
      @Ultimatereloader  5 лет назад

      Lucas- I don't really see the need for that since the metering insert has a graduated scale in grains.... and you only need to get within a grain or so since it "under-charges" by design....

      @@Ultimatereloader I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that these, less than essential, parts are far cheaper to mfg. this way. I have seen people offering aftermarket 'upgrades' (that sure didn't take long) to replace them with aluminum for those of us that like shiny things. My only worry here is that the polymers used are a bit on the delicate side and that the inside of the down spout may be just as roughly contoured. I guess as this operation takes off that will change? For now I would say the total cost is still compelling for those into bulk reloading, general compeition and the hobbyist reaching for greater enjoyment in reloading but at $1400 -1500 (the cost I have seen a completely aluminum rig go for) I think you'd be limiting yourselves to the subset that collect Giruad tool company products and I bet you have bigger plans than that ^^.

      @Ultimatereloader  5 лет назад

      Nope. Did you know that Adam's company has won awards for their innovation (see below)? Why would you invest in molds for injection molding for a specialty product that you revise designs for every couple years? Adam has a whole "fleet" of 3D printers printing around the clock. huddle.today/on-target-onezero-wins-export-award-for-innovative-products-for-long-range-shooters/

      @@Ultimatereloader Well if you get the plastic parts injection molded, and the aluminium parts die cast and then just machine the critical parts in stead of machining it from billett like you do now you can drop the price down a lot and increase the volume of production massively. And that way opening it up for a much bigger market because of the lower price. And you get the added bonus that the plastic parts will lock a lot better with a smooth finish in stead of the 3D printer layer lines.
      And a mold for injection molding does not have to be that expensive. For smaller runs and with no reinforcement added to the plastic you can make the molds out of aluminium in stead of tool steel and cut the price for the molds that way.

      @@Ultimatereloader fine. The amount of equipment you have on the table, the elaborate setup is begging for one of two solutions, ironically one of which you have already reviewed. Either doing it by by using RCBS Matchmaster (yes, yes the price is high but at least you won't look like a miniature cement factory) or just going by hand. A $30 ebay scale with 0.01 gr increment (yes there are some for that price and yes they are as accurate as $500 models, I.e. NOVA) will get you rolling at 20-28 seconds a load. I'm not sure why it takes you a minute per load, maybe 45 sec if you are out of practice or overloaded by accident (1 in 10 loads for me). Still with a little bit of practice and a minimum investment most anyone can do it for the price and speed mentioned above. Unless you have shaky hands or just plain lazy. Mickey mouse operation refference because it looks clumsy and is really not all that affordable. This setup is begging for something to go wrong and the space needed just to measure powder is laughable. Rcbs lite (which you also reviewed) is by far a better option.

      Thanks for elaborating- but the adage "you get what you pay for" holds true here. A scale is an investment.

    ehm, what is the point of this product? It seems more like a prototype than a finished product. It supposedly have higher accurecy than the usual electronic powder dispensers, but other than that the system seems less userfriendly and easy to use than the other dispensers. The big news would be one of the already existing electronic powder tricklers upgraded with more accurate weighing cells to produce the same accuracy in the normal user friendly package..

      Hi- question for you- are you involved in long-range rifle matches or research?

      The point is the great scale, and the accurate trickler. I have a RCBS auto dispenser... and it's great for the price, but it's not as accurate as I'd like. Not a great scale, and sometimes overthrows by a tenth or two, which is way too much in the sports I compete in.

      @@Ultimatereloader No, I am not involved in long range shooting, but I still see the value of an accurate powder load. My point is that a device in the same formfactor like i.e.the rcbs chargemaster would seem like a more userfriendly device rather than this device that consist of several devces that have to be adjusted independently and you have to use a pad or phone to cennect to it.. Wouldn't it be better if someone would improve a chargemaster like machine so that it would offer the same accurecy..??
      .Even thought I see the value of the accurecy this device offers, I still think it seems like a half finished product for the reasons I have explained..

      This product is for people that compete at 1000 yards- a VERY demanding scenarios. There's no substitute for this scale. :) Seriously- the other dispensers have scales that are +/- 0.1 grain in accuracy, whereas this scale is accurate to 0.02 grains. It's massive (the scale). Not sure why you think the V3 system is not a finished product- with the Bluetooth interface, what are you missing?

    Still not worth my money, since its only for the thrower not the scale too.
