i guess mostly cause bm is really strong at this stage of the game in pvp. Pet can easily solo clothies with bestial wrath. As gear gets better most hunter will swap to surv probably
It's because it's so early in the game that all he really needs to do is survive. Ironically, Survival isn't as good at surviving as BM, nor is MM. BM's stun and slow immunity just helps keep him alive and fighting to counter pressure. If they were playing any other spec, they would instantly lose to any double dps just by virtue of them running at the hunter until he dies. It's just a product of him having no access to resilience and adequate amounts of stamina just yet. Even later on, some people still favour BM with a healer over MM or Scatter Sting because it's just a way more forgiving spec to play. MM is objectively better later on, but it'll always be a matter of preference. BM isn't garbage by any means, some people still like it.
@baluga senpai Yup, Weedyx used to play all 3 specs on AT all the time just randomly. They all work as long as there's enough dPR on the ladder to farm.

RL RSP are (very) hard for DH, any heal/x comp is free imo
