Thank you for this! I recently switched from Directv stream to RUclips TV. I added Frndly to supplement some of the channels lost from the change. Still saving money compared to Directv stream.
I like that Frndly TV includes MeTV and FeTV. Many live TV services provide one or the other but not both. Some other live TV services don't offer either channels. Great video guide!
This is the most informative of the Frndly videos I have seen. Thanks! Also: Frndly's interface is much cleaner and easier to use IMHO, than the free streaming services and even some of the PAID ones (Sling's interface, for example, looks like they paid someone $11.52 to write it).
Now that I've got the roommate weaned from TCM, this might be useful.. we had DirecTV but it got plain too expensive once the promotion ran out. RUclipsTV was an option, but you couldn't delete a DVR item, and it mismarked whether it was watched or not, frequently. I'd like the option to hide channels, we don't watch Hallmark channel anything.. it's the same plot, same actors, mostly lovey dovey Christmas. I like channel guide like on cable better than tiles BTW.
frndly tv Lacks user profiles which could be a good thing if you want to show the tv shows to multiple family members thats why i generally often ask RUclips tv about Getting Classic tv channels
We were going to add Frndly (8.99 plan) for The Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel. Then, I found Freecast with their Value pkg at 6.99. It takes more clicks to find the channel and maximize it to the screen, but it’s working fine for now. Do you know of any other inexpensive ways to watch these channels with a good user experience?
Thank you, Y Not. All of Michael’s videos are excellent! I’m guessing you’re referring to the MeTV video which gives free options for a lot of the shows playing there. I’m just trying to find the best way for my hubby to get his outdoor/hunting/fishing shows. $7 for Freecast or $9 for Frndly both offer it, so I will stick with the cheaper option for now.
Great video as usual. One thing that you did and I am confused about you said if you click on the button, you can click just new recordings. But the button you click on said new and repeat episodes. So my question is, can you just record new episodes or not?
I believe I said you can record a single episode or all episodes. But if I said what you're saying, that would have been a mistake. There is a way to sort by newest episodes, which I showed in the DVR section.
Question.. what do you do when the email you have used for your Roku is different from your frndly account and I can’t log in? I’ve backspaced the Roku email and tried to use other email a few times and it won’t let me. Thank you!
You should be able to log in with the email that you used to sign up for Frndly. That doesn’t have to be the same as your Roku email. If you’re having trouble, I would contact Frndly. Also try logging in on other devices like your phone or computer.
I have 2 houses in the same city. May I watch FRNDLY TV in both houses please? Is the, for example, MeTV, Game Show Network, Hallmark, "live" channels or do they stream only? Thank you!
These services are intended for one household only, but given what you've told me, I think it's worth a shot to try. You'll get the live channels for those networks just like on cable.
In my area I'm lucky to pick up PBS sometimes it's flaky, Fox is not watched by anyone living here, we're democrats.. we can't get NBC or ABC on antenna, that's IT.. I NEED a streaming service, besides you have the luxury of DVR'ing a video you might miss, or being hearing impaired may have to rewind.. So not everyone fits YOUR solution.
@@Stache987 Even with an outdoor antenna you still have problems getting channels that’s harsh. Great that this service works for you and the prices are reasonable.
One other thing besides the fact that you can get the same channels on an antenna. Is that you can also get a lot of the same programs for free on Pluto TV. Some of them on demand. Like I am binging Green acres right now. And Pluto TV also has channels dedicated to different shows that you can watch for free also. So depending on what you watch you don’t need to pay $8.99 a month for frndly.
@Shackdaddy and one channel I watch on Pluto has been playing the same season for the last year looped over and over, and none of the other seasons.. and no.. where I live an antenna can't pick up jack shit.. I'm on the middle of nowhere.. PBS and CBS get boring and we don't watch FOX, we're Democrats with brains. There's like two other boring subchannels.. I'm at least 45 miles from Iowa city and Cedar Rapids, 60 from Waterloo and too far to pick up Des Moines, our antennas can't see 7 at all, and can't find 9 anymore.. not everyone fits your demographic.. some HAVE to use streaming if they can't get good reception and there's little to keep them entertained; the ad-naseum looped Pluto is not a fix.
@@Stache987 have you tried Tubi or Freevee? And also Pluto has on-demand so you can watch whatever programs are available on that and get most of the seasons. And remember all of this is free. Also, with Pluto TV to get all the features you just need to sign in with your email address. And that is also true with Tubi.
Some good features there but here and as in any other very inexpensive apps and services all you get are old shows and a lot of less desirable channels. None of these type apps or services give you the live major channels like ABC CBS NBC etc. But it is a good source for basic entertainment. Basically it's just a 'what do you want' thing.
Not when using the Frndly app on my Android tablet nor Fire TV. I used a browser to access Frndly's website and there were many issues, including frequent logins.
I see ads for frndly on Facebook alot. The advertising for the price is fake, They say the price is 6.99 not starting at 6.99. it's premium plan at 10.99 is still cheap but the advertising saying 6.99 only is fake.
The main reason Frndly and Philo don’t carry sports, news and local channels is because they charge carriage fees that have to be passed on to consumers. If you don’t like curated TV and you’re looking for the full cable experience, Sling, RUclips TV, Hulu Live snd DirecTV Stream are what you’re looking for but they’re going to be as expensive as cable/satellite! So why are you cutting the cord?
I have lots of videos on this topic. For most people, the live TV services you mentioned still beat cable on price after the taxes and hidden fees they charge.
You can use antenna for OTA local channels and Frndly for other channels not available OTA. I have antenna (RUclips TV doesn't have most local subchannels) and Frndly and RUclips TV and still pay way less than when I had satellite.

Actually been thinking about signing up for this. Already miss my two favorite stations. Which is the Decades Channel and Hero's & Icons Channel.
I enjoyed your video Frndly setup guide very similar to Fubo tv which I have but it doesn’t do that backwards/forwards 72 hours viewing
I like FrndlyTV. I find myself watching it on Roku but using the app to set recordings or watch.
Good point. I like to set recordings from my phone too.

Does the DVR not allow to only record first run shows and have the ability to add an extension if necessary?
We love this service and IMO is the best deal for the money.

Does the TV have to be connected to the internet in order to get Frndly TV, Roku, Fire TV, etc.?
Yes
I tried frndly tv and it kept on freezing 🥶. I have the 2g service with my internet provider. So I don't understand why I keep freezing
2g is outdated and not fast at all, they are up to 5g now but 4g will work for this.
Does frndly tv have all the numerous streaming problems listed in their reviews. Tried to join it on a new roku it kept declining payment.
I did not have trouble. I signed up on Frndly TV's website and used that information to log in on the Roku.
I signed up on the website then roku it never accepted my payment method.
@@ynot9964 If you sign up on the website, you don’t need to sign up again with Roku- only sign in. Maybe contact support about what happened.
